The MTV show "Beavis and Butt-Head" set off a controversy when a Moraine, Ohio, mother, Darcy Burk, charged her five-year-old son, Austin Messner, set a bed on fire with a cigarette lighter after watching the show.
The boy's two-year-old sister, Jessica Matthews, died in the blaze.
Beavis and Butt-Head had said during the episode that playing with fire was fun. MTV denied the show was responsible for the incident but moved the show from its 7 p.m. time slot to 10:30 p.m.
The New York Times described the animated duo as "teenage delinquents who commented on music videos and enjoyed torturing animals and burning things."
Its creator said Beavis and Butt-Head was only a cartoon.
