LOS ANGELES -- Pro football Hall of Famer O.J. Simpson was questioned but not charged Monday in connection with the death of his former wife.
Asked if Simpson is a suspect, L.A. Police Department spokesman David Gascon said: "Obviously, we're not going to rule anyone out."
The bodies of Nicole Brown Simpson, 35, and Ronald Lyle Goldman, 26, were found late Sunday night outside her condominium.
Police investigators went through Simpson's Brentwood estate Monday.
Police wouldn't discuss the evidence. But Gascon said police expect "an early resolution of the case. . . . The department is pleased with the cooperation it has received."
Simpson declined to answer questions, saying, "I know nothing" when led from his house by police.
His lawyer, Howard Weitzman, said he doesn't think Simpson is a suspect.
Weitzman said Simpson "is devastated. He had a tremendous amount of feeling for Nicole. It's a tremendous loss."
The couple was divorced in 1992, three years after Simpson pleaded no-contest to spousal abuse. Their two children were asleep inside the condo when the bodies were found.
