AmiGantt 4.02.00
Project Management Software
Created: 92/06/01 by Don Tolson
***********************************************************************
Attached to this archive is version 4.02.00 of AmiGantt, the project
management software for the Amiga.
This is an enhancement to the 4.00.00 version uploaded earlier, containing
some new features and some bug fixes.
The documentation (contained in AmiGantt.doc) has been changed to reflect
the enhancements which are included in this version. While the program
function has not changed drastically, it has been brought up to
WB2.0 standards (as much as possible) and the documentation needed some work
to describe these and beef it up in certain areas.
BUG FIXES
1. The biggest repair has been for (I hope!) the situation where previously
saved projects come up as completely BLACK when they are retrieved.
Sorry about that! It doesn't happen on my machine, (an A1000 running
WB 1.3) but I think I've found the problem and corrected it.
Unfortunately, I can't say for sure that it will be able to read projects
created under the faulty 4.00.00, as the saved files are corrupted (the
colormap information is blanked.)
2. The Pert Chart display has been repaired to hold the last 5 rows on the
screen, rather than letting them scroll off.
3. A problem where saving to iff files would cause the program to crash, or
produce unreadable files, has been repaired.
4. If displaying a monthly project on the Gantt chart, pressing the right
cursor key to move the calendar would have no effect. This has been
fixed.
5. A problem with setting the date scroll gadget on initial loading of a
has been repaired.
6. The positions of the Cancel and Execute gadgets on the AREXX Commands
window have been swapped, as per WB2.0 standards.
7. A problem with ARP has been circumvented, which caused the program to
crash when it was attempting to tell you that arp.library was not
installed properly.
8. I've corrected a problem in Add Task, where the resource titles were
not being saved. (Why didn't anyone mention this??)
9. Occassionally, garbage would show up in the project description fields
when modifing the header on a new project. This has been fixed.
10. A memory allocation problem for the printer raster which was causing the
program to hang has been solved via a requestor coming up to tell you
there isn't enough CHIP memory for the print raster.
ENHANCEMENTS
11. The biggest change most will notice is that when printing, a new option
window is displayed which allows modification of most of the printing
parameters. The biggest advantage here is being able to set the Width and
Height of the graphic printout so you can 'scale' the output for the best
looking print. Values greater than 1024 should be ignored by the program,
and if I remember correctly, any less than about 400 is also ignored. Other
than that, have a ball!
12. I've also adjusted the default colours a bit, to make them a bit softer, and
a little less circussy. As always, you can adjust these via the Modify Colors
menu option.
13. The general look and feel of the program has, as much as possible, been
brought up to WB2.0 standards. It's not complete yet in this regard,
but it's getting there.
14. An option to undo sorts has been added. Called 'Original Order' in the
Sort Menu, it will return the tasks to the order they were in before
the sort was selected. Note, that opening, saving, or moving tasks
within the project will 'set' the task order and shut off this undo
feature.
15. The Move Task feature has been finally completed.
16. The name of the AREXX port has been changed to WB2.0 standards. The
new name is AMIGANTT.1
17. A check has been added to disallow saving to a blank file name.
18. AmiGantt will no longer present the 'Are you sure?' requestor on
quitting after a Clear Project.
Please let me know of any difficulties you encounter.
