- This game is similar yet different to the other Space Empire versions.
- There are many factors you need to remember. Here a few excerts from the
- actual documentation that you NEED to know:
-
- New budgeting menu for easier use. If you buy soldiers, your military
- harmony will average over all the soldiers. This means that if you have
- say 100 soldiers, your morale is 50, and you buy 100 more soldier, you
- end up with 200 soldiers of morale 25. This is an approximation of what
- happens.
-
- You may sell items to the Space Market, but you are get about half the
- price you buy for. The menu will show you the current prices for both
- buying and selling.
-
- You must also keep at LEAST 2 million people per planet to mine ore,
- grow food, run the goverment, or build industrial war machines. Failure
- to have the required amount will result in a loss of income, food, and
- industrial output. It is even possible at times to completly lose production.
- If you keep your people happy, in return they may produce MORE. Also happy
- people tend to increase in population faster than unhappy people. Your
- population is important! Keep it happy.
-
- There are many covert actions, and you may be able to do some sometimes and
- at other times you may not. You will have to learn about these yourself,
- but here are some general guidlines.
-
- 1. If a player is under protection, you will not succeed with covert
- activities.
- 2. If the person you are trying to do things to has covert agents, they
- work against you.
- 3. Those agents used for counter intellegence will return the next day.
-
- In addition to the above there are a few more things you should know.
- One of these things is Medical Research. Medical Research is used to
- keep your population healthy. Not paying the reguired amount can result
- in a population that grows sick, and tends to make them unhappy.
- There also have been plagues reported through out the galaxy. Some of
- these plagues have been knowns to destroy an entire empire in a single
- turn. There is no present cure know, but maybe with some research you
- could find one.
-
- General Notes: In the original version, if you spent extra money, you
- only got a benifit if you spent two times, four times, and sometimes five
- times the amount. Now, the benefit is calculated based on the ratio of
- what you spent versus what you needed. This can have important side effects
- when you have the plague!
-
- Space Lord: To become Space Lord, requires that you have a Sysop
- configurable number of points instead of the fixed 100,000 the original
- asked for! Obtaining that score and keeping ahead of the rest will forever
- put your name on the list of Greats!
-
- Missing a day or two of turns is normally a very deadly thing! Because of
- this, the game will remember up to 1 days worth of turns. You get 5 turns
- per day, so after missing 1 days, you will have 10 turns. Beyond that, you
- lose those turns!
-
- Many of the tricks and sneaky things have been corrected, but there are
- still many ways for an enterprising, sneak to rise to the throne of Space Lord!
