  13.     A universal offline message and file handling-system for use
  14.         with ALL Bulletin Board Systems and ALL communication
  15.             programs featuring a script language or ARexx.

  17.                            DESCRIPTION
  18.                            -----------
  19.      Amiga ReadMail is a tool for use with any commsprogram which
  20.      contains  a  script language. It was made by Torkel Lodberg,
  21.      the author of NComm V2.0.
  22.  
  23.      Amiga ReadMail lets you read, answer and enter messages from
  24.      any  bulletin board system offline.  Some file functions are
  25.      also  implemented.   This  means  that  you  may  even order
  26.      uploads  and  downloads,  or  take a look at the list of new
  27.      files.   Most  bulletin  board  operations  can be performed
  28.      while  being  offline,  saving  you a lot of time and money.
  29.      Many message handling functions are included, making it easy
  30.      to read only those messages that *you* are interested in.

  32.      Amiga  ReadMail  does not actually do any communication with
  33.      the  bulletin board system itself.  Amiga ReadMail generates
  34.      a  script  that  uploads  all  the messages to the board and
  35.      grabs new messages.  Information about new files may also be
  36.      collected.

  38.      You may change the scripts as you like, i.e they can be used
  39.      with  any  commsprogram  which  contains  a script language.
  40.      Scripts  for  NComm (V2.0  or higher) are included but Amiga
  41.      ReadMail  may  of  course  be  used with other communication
  42.      programs that contains a script language or ARexx.

  44.      Currently  I  have  included  scripts  for  the  ABBS, MBBS,
  45.      MiniBBS,  AmiExpress  and PCBoard systems but Amiga ReadMail
  46.      can  easily  be  customized  for use with any other bulletin
  47.      board  system  by  making  new scripts and a new header file
  48.      describing the header format in messages.  See RM_Script.doc
  49.      for further information.

  51.      Why would I want to use Amiga ReadMail?
  52.      ---------------------------------------
  53.      1) First of all, it would save you a lot of money. You don't
  54.         have to be logged on while writing messages. Write your
  55.         messages in Amiga ReadMail and they will automatically
  56.         be sent the next time you log on.
  57.      2) Amiga ReadMail has a standardized set of commands. You
  58.         don't have to learn how to use a bulletin board system
  59.         as long as you know how to use Amiga ReadMail.
  60.      3) It's easier to use than most bulletin board systems.
  61.      4) It's a *universal* offline reader that can be used with
  62.         *any* bulletin board system and *any* communication
  63.         featuring a script language. Most other offline readers
  64.         are limited to one or two bulletin board systems.
  65.      5) All scripts and script-commands are put on file and may
  66.         easily be changed any way you like them.
  67.      6) Amiga ReadMail has an inbuilt full-screen editor (but
  68.         you may choose to use an external one if you like).
  69.      7) ARM is fully intuitionized, with gadgets, menus and
  70.         requesters, but may also be used "keyboard-only".
  71.      8) It supports more bulletin board commands and features
  72.         than any other mailreader I currently know of. This
  73.         includes features such as quoting, taglines, signatures
  74.         and a whole lot more...
  75.      9) You may easily "undo" commands and change messages that
  76.         have been previously written. Orders are remembered
  77.         after quitting ReadMail, you may easily continue to
  78.         add to the list of orders by starting ARM again...
  79.     10) Amiga ReadMail has its own inbuilt custom font support
  80.         and does not use the console.device for displaying messages.
  81.         This means that all sorts of IBM graphics may be displayed
  82.         within ARM. This is not possible with programs that use
  83.         the console.device.
  84.     11) It works with any Amiga and does not need a harddisk.
  85.         (Apx. 200K needed when using a 4-color screen). The
  86.         grabfile does not have to be loaded into memory, ARM may
  87.         work on a grabfile directly on disk, but also supports a
  88.         filebuffer, making this a very quick mail-reader.
  89.     12) It's cheap. The current pricing is 200 NOK / $35.
  90.     13) It has been enhanced continously during three years,
  91.         making this a very stable mail-reader. The program
  92.         is still being developed and has its own support BBS.
