  1. These files give PANTONE color definitions for use with Pagestream and
  2. the HP DeskJet 500-C printer.  They were made by first making up the colors
  3. in PageStream (using the Edit Color Palette function) and the matching the
  4. colors printed out by the DeskJet color cartridge with those in the
  5. Pantone Matching System.  This is NOT a complete Pantone set, and some 
  6. of the colors included do not have Pantone equivalents.

  8. The file COLORPAL should replace the COLORPAL file in your Pagestream
  9. Drivers directory.  The colors are listed in the order they appear in the
  10. three document files included with this set.  Also given with each color is
  11. a descriptive name, as these are easier for most people to remember than
  12. the pantone numbers.

  14. The files COLOR CHART, COLOR CHART 2 and COLOR CHART 3 are pagestream
  15. document files, which print out the actual colors so you can have samples
  16. of each.  By printing these out on different printers, you can, if you
  17. are extremely masochistic, make up similar COLORPAL files for different
  18. color printers.

  20. The original matching was done by using the pagestream PREFERENCES printer
  21. driver, and setting the actual preferences driver to the driver included 
  22. in this set (HP_DeskJet500C).  DO NOT set the "Color Correct" switch on
  23. the preferences driver if you wish these colors to print correctly!
