- Notes on this New upload of RGS
-
- This RGS, dated Dec. 1 1990, will probably be the last RGS in this
- form. RGS started its electronic life as a program called DRW,
- written in CSI Multi-forth. As RGS, it was ported to JForth and
- greatly expanded. However, I lost some of the newest source in
- a disk crash (yes, it was backed up - on corrupt floppies!). As
- I have become more proficient in Assembler over the years, RGS
- may arise, phoenix-like, as an assembler program with more resolution,
- longer samples, real live file requesters (asl or arp), probably
- built in sampling, or even, God willing, as a 16-bit version.
- Likewise, some of the synthesis options may be available on an
- extremely accurate basis from inside of my animation program,
- Vapor Paint.
- Here are some updates for the .doc file:
- First, a postcard stamp no longer costs 19 cents.
- Second, I dont think that IEMUG board is up anymore, and even so,
- I can't be found there. I can still get messages as:
- 76625,2425 CIS (76625.2425@compuserve.com)
- jhhl the Well and Echo (jhhl@well.sf.ca.us)
- BTW, I've never been able to get EMAIL via the internet on the well -
- probably lousy routers somewhere.
- Third, the main difference between the "July 1990" and the "December
- 1990" versions of RGS is the speed of the synthesis section.
- This version is also being distributed in an .lzh file, as opposed
- to a .zoo or .arc that previous versions used. I bet you've already
- figured that out!
-
- So, read that docs (or print it),and enjoy yourself as folks on 4
- continents already do! (no word from Asia yet...)
