  1. The CELLS program implements the cellular automata environment called
  2. "Wireworld" described by A. K. Dewdney in the Computer Recreations collumn
  3. of the Scientific American, January 1990.
  4.  
  5. It needs access to the DiskFont.Library on your system disk, and to the font
  6. called Moonstone.Font in the Fonts directory on this disk.  Either copy the
  7. contents of this Fonts directory into your system FONTS: directory, or use
  8. the ASSIGN command to make FONTS: point to this directory.
  9.  
  10. Finally, the Cells.Help file contains information used by the on-line help
  11. system that is part of the program.  It should be in the current directory,
  12. or you can use ASSIGN to create a name called HELP: that points to where
  13. the Cells.Help file is located.

  15. To get help once the program is running, simply press the HELP gadget on
  16. screen, or press the HELP key on the keyboard.  All of the program's
  17. functions are described in full in the on-line help document.

  19. The CIRCUITS directory contains example files of cellular circuits and parts
  20. libraries created using CELLS.  These include example used by the author to
  21. answer the questions posed by Mr. Dewdney in his article.  A printed copy of
  22. the letter sent to Mr. Dewdney explaining these circuits can be requested
  23. from the author.

  25. The .COLORS files are sample screen-color files that can be used to set the
  26. colors for CELLS.  See the on-line documentation for more information about
  27. color files.
