  24.     The program EPHEMERIS is a standalone RUNTIME package, written in
  25. HiSoft Basic. (You don't need HiSoft Basic to use it.)

  29.     from CLI by  > run ephemer,
  30.     or
  31.     call it up from Workbench by double-cliking its icon.

  34. WHAT IS EPHEMERIS?
  35. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
  36.     EPHEMERIS has been written "for those who, either for pactical purposes
  37. or simply because they enjoy making predictions, wish to calculate the
  38. positions and visual aspects of the major heavenly bodies". (So said Peter
  39. Duffet-Smith in his book "Practical Astronomy", Cambrodge University Press).
  40.     Another sources are:
  41. - "Calcul Astronomique pour Amateur" by Serge Bouiges. Masson Edit.
  42. - "Ephemerides" by the Bureau des Longitudes.

  44.     The program calculates the positions ofthe Sun, the Moon and the planets
  45. for any date and any place and give:
  46.  
  47.     - the Julian day number,
  48.     - the day of the week,
  49.     - the position in Equatorial coordinates,
  50.                    in Horizontal coordinates,
  51.                    in Ecliptic coordinates,
  52.     - the orbits of the Sun and Planets with semi-major axis, eccentricity,
  53.       eccentric and true anomaly, distance, angular size...,
  54.     - rising and setting,
  55.     - for the Sun, the energy estimated above the atmosphere,
  56.     - for the Moon and the Planets their position in a zodiacal sky at the
  57.       date and at three anterior periods for a decrement choosen.
