- of what FractalPro 4.0 can do on your Amiga.
-
-
- FractalPro 4.0 is a single Amiga program which provides:
-
- Mandelbrot, Julia, Cube Mandelbrot and Cube Julia Sets
- All images generated in HAM Interlaced mode with up to 256 colors
- Full slider-operated Color Palette controls
- HAM shading in Red, Green, or Blue
- Variable Speed color cycling

- Cascades - Julia Set sequences between any two Mandelbrot pics
-
- Automatic sequencing works entirely unattended for saving each
- new images to RAM:, floppy, or hard drive file.

- Four selectable increments of motion for sequencing.
-
- Vista/VistaPro Landscape DEM file generation for 3-D rendering of
- fractal images in Vista or VistaPro (from Virtual Reality
- Laboratories, Inc. of San Luis Obispo, CA).

- assembly language with custom high speed math routines
- Automatic sensing and optimization for 68020/030/040
- NTSC resolutions: 320x400 and 368x480 overscan
- PAL resolutions : 320x512 and 368x592 overscan
- compatible with The Art Department from ASDG
- Animation tools for creating and playing ANIM files from FractalPro
- image sequences.
- Automatic operation of extended precision.
- Capability to magnify fractals up to 200 Trillion.
- No external libraries, math coprocessor, or other software required
-
- Written by Daniel Wolf, Ph.D., author of Compute!'s Amiga Machine
- Language Programming Guide and numerous articles on Amiga assembly
- language.
-
-
-
- No other fractal program even comes close to FractalPro's advanced features!
- Suggested List Price is $99.95, now in use worldwide. The animations are
- truly spectacular when recorded on video tape - virtually indistinguishable
- from the commercial fractal videos made with Crays but with more types
- of motion!
-
-
-
- Here's what the customers say:
-
- I though it would be phenomenal but it's even phenomenaler than I thought!
- - California
-
- Congratulations on FractalPro 4.0!
- - Italy
-
- I really enjoy FractalPro ... absolutely the best Mandelbrot & Julia
- generation I've seen for the Amiga and I have seen and used them all.
- - Minnesota
-
- Four STARS! Once you've seen Mandelbrot images in HAM it'll be hard to
- go back to any other resolution.
- - INFO Magazine
-
- The images are nothing short of spectacular.

-
-
- This demo is designed to show you how fantastic HAM fractal images are with
- up to 256 colors and to demonstrate the motion sequencing capabilities you
- can control with FractalPro 4.0. You can make Mandelbrot and Julia Sets
- and try some Up or Down image sequences. You can also do some zooming in
- on Mandelbrot and Julia Set images. Once you've seen how terrific these
- pictures are compared to other Mandelbrot programs, it'll be hard to live
- with those simple 16 and 32 color displays! And the image sequencing
- capabilities are the most advanced of any fractal software on any computer.
- This demo does operate at FULL SPEED!
-
-
-
- Instructions
-
- To get started: Just double-click or use the CLI to type the program name
-
- The demo starts by beginning to draw the whole basic Mandelbrot picture with
- a count value of 256 iterations per pixel.
-
- FractalPro has a separate HAM drawing screen and control window (located on
- the WorkBench screen) with all its menus.
-
- The HAM screen has NO title bar and therefore NO front/back gadgets! A title
- bar on a HAM screen messes things up.
-
-
- Drawing and Pausing
-
- To PAUSE the DRAWING process at any time just Click on the graphic screen
- or go to the control window on the WorkBench screen and use the PAUSE item
- in the Control Menu.
-
- Whenever you wish to re-start the drawing process use the DRAW item in the
- Control Menu.
-
- When you start drawing on the HAM screen, the HAM screen doesn't automatically
- jump to the front. You'll need to use the Left-Amiga-N and Left-Amiga-M
- key combinations to move back and forth between the WorkBench and HAM screens.
-
- If you PAUSE part way through the drawing process and later activate DRAW,
- the drawing continues where it left off.
-
- When drawing is completed (done to the top of the HAM screen), the drawing
- process stops automatically and the WorkBench screen with FractalPro's
- control window jumps to the front automatically.
-
- The control window on the WorkBench screen DOES give you a title message
- saying whether FractalPro is Drawing ... or Paused ...
- so you don't have to look at the HAM screen to see what's happening.
-
-
- Zooming
-
- When you've got the drawing PAUSED, you can activate one of the ZOOM menu
- choices. The HAM screen will pop to the front and you can maneuver
- the Zoom window where you want it to cover a region to be zoomed. Then
- just close the Zoom window and the graphics screen will jump to the read so
- you can use the menus again from the control window on the WorkBench screen.
-
- After you've selected your zoom region, just activate the DRAW item in the
- Control menu. Remember, you won't necessarily see the HAM screen unless
- you use Left-Amiga-N and Left-Amiga-M to move back and forth between the
- HAM and WorkBench screens.
-
- If you've selected a Zoom window, positioned it on the HAM screen, and
- closed it, then when you next activate DRAW, the zoomed in region will
- be drawn on the HAM screen.
-
-
- Sequencing
-
- First PAUSE the drawing (or wait for it to stop when it reaches the top
- of the screen by itself).
-
- 1. Select DOWN or UP from the MOVE options submenu.
- 2. Select 32/40 or 16/20 from the INCREMENT options submenu.
- 3. Select AnimCount of 16, 32, or 64.
- 4. Activate Sequence in the Project Menu.
- 5. Activate DRAW in the Control Menu.
-
- Now use Left-Amiga-N and Left-Amiga-M to get to see the process on the
- HAM screen. FractalPro uses the Blitter to do most of the image moving
- work and very quickly draws a sequence of fractal images which only need
- the top or bottom thin horizontal section re-drawn on each new picture.
-
- You can PAUSE during drawing of a sequence and activate DRAW again to
- watch it carry on.
-
-
- Color Cycling
-
- Use the Cycle Set option in the Project Menu's Color submenu to set
- cycling speed and direction (AutoStep lets color cycling proceed one
- step at a time during image sequencing so each new image gets a cycling
- effect). Don't recommend speeds higher than 6 or 7 (they get pretty slow).
-
- Start Color Cycling using the Cycle option in the Project Menu's Color
- submenu. That will make the HAM screen jump to the front so you can
- watch the cycling. When it stops (it will by itself after a few seconds)
- the HAM screen jumps to the rear again.
-
- If you want to stop cycling before it stops itself, just click on the
- HAM screen once.
-
-
- Julia Sets
-
- To get a Julia Set (and they are zoomable, too!) just PAUSE or wait
- 'til drawing is finished, then activate the Julia item in the Project
- Menu's Fractal submenu. Then activate DRAW again.
