  134. This demo is designed to show you how fantastic HAM fractal images are with
  135. up to 256 colors and to demonstrate the motion sequencing capabilities you
  136. can control with FractalPro 4.0.  You can make Mandelbrot and Julia Sets
  137. and try some Up or Down image sequences.  You can also do some zooming in
  138. on Mandelbrot and Julia Set images.  Once you've seen how terrific these
  139. pictures are compared to other Mandelbrot programs, it'll be hard to live
  140. with those simple 16 and 32 color displays!  And the image sequencing
  141. capabilities are the most advanced of any fractal software on any computer.
  142. This demo does operate at FULL SPEED!

  146.             Instructions
  147.  
  148. To get started:  Just double-click or use the CLI to type the program name
  149.  
  150. The demo starts by beginning to draw the whole basic Mandelbrot picture with
  151. a count value of 256 iterations per pixel.
  152.  
  153. FractalPro has a separate HAM drawing screen and control window (located on
  154. the WorkBench screen) with all its menus.
  155.  
  156. The HAM screen has NO title bar and therefore NO front/back gadgets!  A title
  157. bar on a HAM screen messes things up.

  160.             Drawing and Pausing
  161.  
  162. To PAUSE the DRAWING process at any time just Click on the graphic screen
  163. or go to the control window on the WorkBench screen and use the PAUSE item
  164. in the Control Menu.
  165.  
  166. Whenever you wish to re-start the drawing process use the DRAW item in the
  167. Control Menu.
  168.  
  169. When you start drawing on the HAM screen, the HAM screen doesn't automatically
  170. jump to the front.  You'll need to use the Left-Amiga-N and Left-Amiga-M
  171. key combinations to move back and forth between the WorkBench and HAM screens.
  172.  
  173. If you PAUSE part way through the drawing process and later activate DRAW,
  174. the drawing continues where it left off.
  175.  
  176. When drawing is completed (done to the top of the HAM screen), the drawing
  177. process stops automatically and the WorkBench screen with FractalPro's
  178. control window jumps to the front automatically.
  179.  
  180. The control window on the WorkBench screen DOES give you a title message
  181. saying whether FractalPro is Drawing ...   or Paused ...
  182. so you don't have to look at the HAM screen to see what's happening.

  185.             Zooming
  186.  
  187. When you've got the drawing PAUSED, you can activate one of the ZOOM menu
  188. choices.  The HAM screen will pop to the front and you can maneuver
  189. the Zoom window where you want it to cover a region to be zoomed.  Then
  190. just close the Zoom window and the graphics screen will jump to the read so 
  191. you can use the menus again from the control window on the WorkBench screen.

  193. After you've selected your zoom region, just activate the DRAW item in the
  194. Control menu.  Remember, you won't necessarily see the HAM screen unless
  195. you use Left-Amiga-N and Left-Amiga-M to move back and forth between the
  196. HAM and WorkBench screens.

  198. If you've selected a Zoom window, positioned it on the HAM screen, and
  199. closed it, then when you next activate DRAW, the zoomed in region will
  200. be drawn on the HAM screen.

  203.             Sequencing
  204.  
  205. First PAUSE the drawing (or wait for it to stop when it reaches the top
  206. of the screen by itself).
  207.  
  208. 1. Select DOWN or UP from the MOVE options submenu.
  209. 2. Select 32/40 or 16/20 from the INCREMENT options submenu.
  210. 3. Select AnimCount of 16, 32, or 64.
  211. 4. Activate Sequence in the Project Menu.
  212. 5. Activate DRAW in the Control Menu.
  213.  
  214. Now use Left-Amiga-N and Left-Amiga-M to get to see the process on the
  215. HAM screen.  FractalPro uses the Blitter to do most of the image moving
  216. work and very quickly draws a sequence of fractal images which only need
  217. the top or bottom thin horizontal section re-drawn on each new picture.
  218.  
  219. You can PAUSE during drawing of a sequence and activate DRAW again to
  220. watch it carry on.

  223.             Color Cycling
  224.  
  225. Use the Cycle Set option in the Project Menu's Color submenu to set 
  226. cycling speed and direction (AutoStep lets color cycling proceed one
  227. step at a time during image sequencing so each new image gets a cycling
  228. effect).  Don't recommend speeds higher than 6 or 7 (they get pretty slow).
  229.  
  230. Start Color Cycling using the Cycle option in the Project Menu's Color
  231. submenu.  That will make the HAM screen jump to the front so you can
  232. watch the cycling.  When it stops (it will by itself after a few seconds)
  233. the HAM screen jumps to the rear again.

  235. If you want to stop cycling before it stops itself, just click on the
  236. HAM screen once.

  239.             Julia Sets
  240.  
  241. To get a Julia Set (and they are zoomable, too!) just PAUSE or wait
  242. 'til drawing is finished, then activate the Julia item in the Project
  243. Menu's Fractal submenu.  Then activate DRAW again.
