  2. \ul Ideas for HyperText Documents using HT\ul
  3.  
  4. \format
  5.     HT is a very flexible program which has many possibilites.    If you have
  6. a message which involves text information, HT fits in perfectly.  HT
  7. integrates with the other Amiga tools you use and lets you easily
  8. incorporate the other types of media with your text.  Lets just start
  9. rolling off ideas that you can use as a starting point for your projects.
  10.  
  11.     The ability to be able to run other applications by the click of a
  12. button really opens some doors.  For example, documentation for a program
  13. could actually run the program for you.  Through the ARexx interface, it
  14. would fairly easy to send commands to control an external program from
  15. within \ITALIC HT.\ITALIC   This would allow documentation to \BOLD
  16. really \BOLD demonstrate a program and its features.

  18.     Creating reports on any topic could be easily done.  Write your report
  19. normally and then link in relevant pictures, sounds, animations, etc.  A
  20. physics report could show bar charts of data.  A review of a piece of music
  21. could contain samples or even the whole piece.    A product list could
  22. contain links to actual demos of the products.    Business reports could have
  23. links defined to other information about the company or an external demo.
  24. It is possible to create documentation that steps a novice user through the
  25. process of learning a software package.

  27.     Another interesting application is the ability to create Adventure
  28. games in the style of the "choose your own adventure" books.  However, with
  29. HT it could be even more entrancing.  Players could speak, pictures of
  30. battles could be displayed, and there is even the possibility for including
  31. swordfighting action via an external program.

  33.     With HT, people can take notes on topics that interest them.  They can
  34. then save those notes, or print them, or even edit them directly.  Now
  35. wouldn't it be nice if you could take notes on difficult sections of a
  36. program manual and have the notes saved to disk for easy later reference.
  37. Then any time you have a problem, you would just call back up your notes
  38. and find the part that gave you trouble.  No more flipping through 700 page
  39. manuals fumbling through to find the section you need.

  41.     HT gives you \it interactive information. \it  It can transform a
  42. boring physics lesson into a completely dynamic session in which the
  43. concepts are \bold visually \bold demonstrated.  People are learn best
  44. when they use all of their senses, and HT gives you the vehicle to do
  45. this with.  No more boring text only files, let's have them with full color
  46. pictures, stereo sound/music and good user interaction.  Your information
  47. will get across much better than it ever has before if you take advantage
  48. of the ability to involve all of their senses, not just their eyes.

  50.     The only real limit on what you can do with HT is your imagination.
  51. In general, if you would normally type something in, the effort to add a
  52. few links can make a large difference to your final message.  You as the
  53. author get a rich set of options to use to help get your point across.    The
  54. user gets a flexible time-saving environment for going through all of your
  55. information.
