  1. Tcla stands for Tool Command Language - Amiga, and it provides several 
  2. commands (via the C interface) that have been added to Tcl to support 
  3. Amigas, including support for CLI commands, windows, menus, resources,
  4. file requesters, alerts and message passing between Tcla programs.  
  5. Tcla was created by Karl Lehenbauer of Hackercorp.

  7. This package contains both Tcl and Tcla, packaged as an Amiga shared
  8. library, tcla.library.   The Tcla code is copyrighted by Hackercorp, 
  9. but we allow redistribution for any purpose subject to minimal
  10. requirements regarding maintaining copyright and disclaimer messages.

  12. tcla.library, in addition to providing the basic capabilities of Tcl, has
  13. additional support for many Amiga-specific functions, such as executing
  14. CLI commands and getting the result back as a string,  opening and 
  15. manipulating windows and processing window events, file requesters, alerts,
  16. support for menus and gadgets, and provides sharable Tcl-based handles to 
  17. various application-specific data entities (resource banks).  Further, all 
  18. Tcla programs have the ability to send and  receive Tcl commands to and
