Clock Doctor v3.0 treats the following virus symptoms:
1. The clock runs at a rate of 8 hours a second.
2. The clock is stopped.
User Program
---- -------
Clk_Doctor Check for either virus and corrects it if found.
IMPORTANT NOTE: A.X. Magazine has provided an ICON so that you don't
have to use CLI, if you don't want to. If you use the icon, the program
still works, but it prints its message very quickly in a window which
pops open, then pops closed equally as fast. But be assured it is doing
its job.
We reccomend putting this program in your Startup-Sequence to aid
in pinpointing the guilty program. This is the last version being
that the new version of SetClock will reset the clock everytime
it's run.
If your having SYSTEM clock problems and have a 2000
i.e. once you use setclockto set your system time, you check the
time, you check the time about a day or two later (if you leave
your system on), and the time seems to be way off then try this:
Remove the case from your 2000
Remove the screws from the drive frame, unplug the power supply
connector.
Look for jumper J300 it will be near one of the 8520 chips.
The jumper should be set as follows:
J 300
___
[. .] .
---
1 2 3
If the jumper block is not between pins 1 & 2 then you must change
it, I reccomend needle nose pliers.
Then replace the drive frame, power supply connector, and screws.
Replace the drive case.
That's it
Reason: A small run of 2000's had J300 set improperly. J300
sets whether the system clock uses the 50/60hz AC line frequency,
or the vertical sync pulse. A500's are set to the later (sorry guys
no way to change that).
