- free update. (Send the fee to the address above)
- This english demo version may be freely distributed with the following
- restrictions:
-
- - It must be distributed in a separate drawer containing the following
- files:
- DiskPrint2.2e [The program, V2.3 demo, english]
- DiskPrint2.2e.info
- DiskPrint.def [Defaults file]
- ReadMe.doc [This instruction]
- ReadMe.doc.info
- Help.pic.pp [IFF-pic]
- Help.pic.info
- Eti_Fish200-250 [DiskPrint 2.3 label data]
- Eti_Fish251-370 [...]
- PPShow [IFF viewer]
- MuchMorePoPa [like "more", (c) AMOK]
- arp.library [library, please copy to sys:libs]
-
- - None of the files was changed in any way (for example with a file editor)
- - The disk (this package is distributed with) must not cost more than
- 6 US-Dollars.
-
-
- II. SYSTEM CONFIGURATION
-
- This Program runs on all Amigas (500/1000/2000/2500/3000) with Kickstart
- 1.2/1.3/2.0.
- About 40 kB free memory is required (plus free memory for label data,
- default is 60kB)
- The program needs "ARP.library" in the "libs:" -drawer of your bootdisk if
- not using Kickstart 2.0. It uses the "printer.device" so your printer
- driver should be set properly.
- What you also need are 3.5"-labels to print on (and a printer, of course!)
- (:-])
-
-
- III. GETTING STARTED
-
- The Program can be started from Workbench (by double clicking the icon) or
- from CLI.
- From the CLI, a filename can be added to load a data file
- e.g. "DiskPrint2.2e S:Eti_Fish251-370"
-
-
- IV. THE PROGRAM
-
- DiskPrint is used for printing 3,5" disk labels. It is designed for
- public domain (mainly for printing labels for FD-disks). The main
- feature is that label data files can be loaded into memory so labels for
- special FD-Disks, e.g. Fishdisks, are available without having to type
- anything in or having to wait for AmigaDos to read in the full directory.
- The easiest way to figure out what advantages DiskPrint has is to run the
- program and print out some Fish-labels...
-
-
- V. HOW TO USE...
-
- After having started, the program tries to load the file "DiskPrint.def"
- in the actual drawer or the s-drawer of your bootdisk. From this file the
- default of the DiskType-gadget (described below) and the path for label
- data is read in. See the example file "DiskPrint.def" for further info.
-
- In the top of the DiskPrint window there are 21 names of FD-disk series. I
- know most of them are german, so if you send me the name of your serie I
- will include it in my next version. If you have any suggestions to improve
- DiskPrint please send these to me...
- If you select one of them with the left mousebutton it will appear in the
- so called "diskname"-gadget.
- Below this there are two gadgets where you can skip forward/backward one
- label in the data memory. Between these there's a gadget with a
- number in it (described below). If you hit this gadget the label with this
- number will be searched in data memory.
- Below there's the "disktype" -gadget. Normally you should leave the
- default in it. It describes the general type of the disk contents (for ex-
- ample shareware, backup disk, public domain, free distributable, data
- disk, ...).
- Below this there are seven string-gadgets where detailed information about
- the contents is given (for example the program names, versions, copyright,
- ...). Load the data files to see.
- All these string gadgets can be cleared by clicking into the gadget
- described with a "C" (left of the contents gadgets). The disktype gadget
- will be set to default then.
- On the left there's the disk nr. With the upper arrow you can increase it,
- the lower one decreases it. The right arrow appends it to the diskname.
- If you want to run DiskPrint in the background just press the right
- mousebutton while the DiskPrint window is active. This window will close
- then and a small one will open.
- By clicking into this little window the program is reactivated - and no
- data was lost...
-
-
- DiskPrint has some more functions:
-
- - Clear data mem Clears the data mem. The labels (currently in
- memory) will be lost!
- - Load datafile Load a label data file from disk into memory
- (arp-requester will open)
- - Write datafile Write a label data file onto disk
- (DEMO-VERSION!, removed)
- - Write into mem Write the (in the window) actually displayed
- label into mem at the position by using the
- write mode shown in the mode gadget (described
- below)
- - Print label Print the label on your printer. Uses the
- printer.device. Your printer should be set
- correctly with "preferences" !!!!
- - Mode: append/edit This is the mode used at "Write into mem":
- * if in append mode: the label will be appen-
- ded after the last label in memory
- (the actual position in memory is ignored)
- -> use this to append new labels to the end of
- your data file
- * if in edit mode: the label in the actual
- position will be overwritten by the displayed
- label
- -> use this to edit old label data. But please
- be careful...
- - Load Contents Load in the contents of a fishdisk to the
- string gadgets. Also loads in version numbers
- of the files if given in the contents file.
- (Demo-Version!, removed)
- - Search ASCII Search for an ASCII text in data memory
- * Search first: Start searching at the first
- label in data memory
- * Search next: Start searching at the actual
- position in memory
- - AutoIncrease Increase the disk no. by 1 if the "clear"
- gadget is activated
- - AutoWrite Activates the above listed function "Write
- into mem" automatically if the "return"-key is
- pressed in the last contents gadget
- (be careful: the write mode is relevant)
-
- Have fun!...
