  2.  The Reconcile function allows you to quickly check if
  3.  what the bank shows as your statement balance and what
  4.  your checkbook register shows as your statement balance.
  5.  
  6.  Once all cleared (posted) transactions are in for the
  7.  month, select Reconcile and choose OKAY to continue.  The
  8.  program will determine the checkbook's statement balance,
  9.  by totalling only those transactions that have been
  10.  marked as being cleared (has a valid date in the CLEARED
  11.  string gadget).  The amount shown in the STATEMENT
  12.  BALANCE box on the lower-left of the Main Screen is what
  13.  the Checkbook Accountant shows as being your statement
  14.  balance.  If they are the same, congratulations!...you
  15.  have just balanced your checkbook.

  17.  If you get different statement balance amounts, don't
  18.  fear.  Print out a copy of either all checkbook
  19.  transactions from the last balanced statement to the
  20.  last-entered transaction (from the View requester, select
  21.  ALL TRANSACTIONS and RANGE with a suitable "from" date;
  22.  leave the "to" date blank so that it will print from that
  23.  date forward), or only the cleared transactions (from the
  24.  View requester, select Cleared Transactions and RANGE, as
  25.  described in the previous step).  Go to the Print
  26.  requester and select Viewable Transactions and the
  27.  desired destination (printer or disk file, whichever is
  28.  best for you).  Compare the printout with your checkbook
  29.  register.  This should help track down any discrepancies
  30.  in recording the transactions.  If you find any errors,
  31.  correct them and try again.  Repeat this process until
  32.  you cannot find the error on your part and being to
  33.  believe the error is in the bank's records.  You will
  34.  have to deal with the bank yourself; Checkbook Accountant
  35.  can only do so much.

  37.  Good luck with your reconciliation.  If you have any
  38.  problems balancing your checkbook, try out different
  39.  View and Print options.  Their availability is to your
  40.  advantage.

  45.  through the Reconcile requester along with their
  46.  keyboard equivalents.  No menu selection is required
  47.  for these operations, so you can either press the
  48.  required letter on the keyboard, click on the
  49.  corresponding gadget, or press the letter along with the
  50.  RIGHT-AMIGA key (the RIGHT-AMIGA keypress is ignored).
