  1. Below is the original distribution msg Anson placed with "ScreenShift". I
  2. did nothing except shortening it and replaced that nasty "SS"... It's
  3. called "SM" now; sorry, I got this tooo late :-)

  5. The code is about half the size of '88, thanks John's work on Lettuce-C.
  6. Besides, "GO" crashes if you attempt to optimize it. Sorry, THAT's not my
  7. fault.

  12. ScreenShift
  13. ===========

  15. ScreenShift is a small program that allows you to adjust the position of
  16. the screen on your display, just like a well-known Preferences function.
  17. It is useful for the temporary changes which don't require loading all
  18. forty some odd kilbytes of Preferences.  It is also useful for those who
  19. use 'morerow'ed (overscan screens) to get a look at the 'hidden' sections.

  21. ScreenShift may be started from either the WorkBench or CLI.  The display
  22. may be move by either using the mouse and the proportional gadget or
  23. the cursor keys for fine tuning.  The gadget's knob is the small box with
  24. an italic 'SS' written inside.  To quit the program, either click on the
  25. window close gadget or press RETURN.

  27. The source code is PD and may be used in any way anywhere.  You can even
  28. sell it, if you find anyone crazy enough to pay for it.

  30. Shortcomings:  (what do you expect for a hack?)
  31. - doesn't save setting (simple addition to it)
  32. - no undo feature; WYSIWYG
