Welcome to SPrint version 2.0! (7.13.90)
Does your printer have one of those really snazzy control panels with all
sorts of buttons to control its output? No? Now it does!
SPrint 2.0 is a small utility (approximately 10k) that will allow you to do
all of those fancy things you always wanted to with your printer without
having to enter cryptic control sequences no matter which program you're
using to print with! No, SPrint isn't going to turn Word Perfect into a
WYSIWYG word processor, but it will save you lots of hassle while printing
out your Read_Me files from the CLI or printing source code with your
favorite text editor.
SPrint2.0 can either be run from the CLI or by clicking on its icon. If you
are fond of the CLI (or at least not-fond of Workbench), you will probably
want to put the program somewhere in your search path.
Give it a try! Run SPrint from the CLI and click on one of the gadgets such
as the one labelled CONDENSED, then type:
copy SPrint20.doc prt:
SPrint2.0 opens a small unobtrusive window in the upper left corner of the
Workbench screen. It consumes very little memory and CPU time, so it
shouldn't cause any problems if you multitask it with other programs.
Except for RESET and INFO, SPrint's gadgets can be toggled on and off.
This has the effect of turning your printer's various modes on and off
respectively. Not all printer's will support every style and mode,
but each should support at least a few.
SPrint2.0 is ShareWare. If you find it useful, please send $5 to the
author. It will be greatly appreciated. Send $7 for a copy of the latest
version of SPrint and the Manx C v3.6a source code.
