  2. This is a modification of the screen blanker that comes with 2.0.  Instead
  3. of just clearing the screen to black this program will present a star field
  4. as inspired by Leo's "Stars" program.  Infact the lo-res version of this
  5. blanker uses the same setup as Leo's original program.  The hi-res version
  6. is a little easier to see in bright light environments (especially computer
  7. showrooms), but uses interlace.  The problem with interlace is simply one
  8. of smooth animation.  There is really no cool way to animate when every odd
  9. line of your image is going to be shifted toward the direction of motion.
  10. I tried to create a version that opened a Productivity screen, but it was
  11. SO far off center that it was unusable.  Especially bad I thought for all
  12. those people that don't have 3000s and the video would break up when the
  13. screen blanked.

  15. What is entertaining about this is that it is a demonstration of
  16. programming in 2.0 including the opening of a full 2.0 overscan screen.
  17. The portions of the source that I have modified are included.  To compile
  18. you need the rest of the source off the Atlanta DevCon disks in the
  19. Commodities directory.
