SEUCK Tools by Brian Conrad

These utilities may be freely distributed.
These are four utilities that make it easier to create "sprites"
and "backgrounds" for "Shoot'Em Up Construction Kit" (published
by Accolade on their Advantage label). Although SEUCK is a very
powerful program to let your create your own arcade games it's
graphics editor is very basic. These utilities let you create
sprite (.SPR) and background (.BGD) files with Deluxe Paint or
other paint programs.
The utilities are:
IFF2SPR -- Converts a 320 x 240 8 color picture file into a
.SPR file that SEUCK can use. Just set the page size in DPaint
to 320 x 240. Then draw your sprites as objects in a 32x24 grid.
Since SEUCK's sprites are 24 pixels wide, leave an 8 pixel width
blank border on the right side of each grid. You might want to
convert an existing .SPR file using SPR2IFF to see what I mean.
Usage: IFF2SPR <IFF file> <destination .SPR file>
SPR2IFF -- Converts a SEUCK .SPR file back to a 320 x 240 8
color IFF picture file.
Usage: SPR2IFF <.SPR file> <destination IFF file>
IFF2BGD -- Converts an 320 x 480 8 color IFF file to a SEUCK
.BGD file. Each tile of the background is 32x32. Again you
might want to convert an existing .BGD file to IFF to see its
layout.
Usage: IFF2BGD < IFF file> <destination .BGD>
BGD2IFF -- Converts a .BGD (backgound) file to a 320 x 480 8
color IFF file that can be loaded into DPaint.
Usage: BGD2IFF < .BGD file> <destinatiion IFF file>
I hope you find these tools useful. Let's see what wonderful
and bizarre creations you can come up with.
