This is Forty Thieves!
Forty thieves is a truly addictive solitaire, similar to ShangHai.
If running from CLI, you must set the stack to at least 4800.
Like most solitaires, the object of the game is to clear the board
of cards. To do this you must follow the following rules (these
instructions are also available when you start up the game):
------------------------------ Rules ----------------------------------
Thirty five cards which are placed face up, seven across
and five down. Your job is to capture them.
The "thieves" can be captured by a card in your pile whose number
is exactly 1 away from the thief, for example, a 10 captures a 9 or an 8,
a 5 captures a 6 or a 7, a queen captures a jack or a king.
A wildcard can capture or be captured by anything.
The aces cannot be taken by kings and vice-versa.
Only the bottom card of a stack can be captured. You must
uncover the others before they are captured. In this way, the
game is similar to ShangHai. There is much more strategy than
first appears!
If you succeed in clearing the board, a new deck will be dealt,
though one wildcard is removed from your hand each time.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
This version of the game is freely distributable, though I would
appreciate this file included with it and any comments on the
game sent to:
