  7. Enclosed in this archive should be six files:

  9. PSound_3.0   A working copy of the Perfect Sound software with
  10.              save and record disabled. (Brief instructions at end
  11.              of this file.)
  12. ps.txt       A file used by PSound_3.0
  13. ps.main      A file used by PSound_3.0
  14. demo.snd     A sample sound recorded with Perfect Sound
  15. arp.library  The PD arp library.  If you haven't already done so,
  16.              you must copy this file to your libs: directory. eg.
  17.              copy arp.library libs:arp.library
  18. ReadMe       This file.

  20. Perfect Sound is a complete digital recording package for the
  21. Amiga.  It includes hardware and software. The Hardware for version
  22. 3.0 has been totally redesigned. Features of the new hardware are:
  23.  
  24. - Stereo (left & right line inputs)
  25. - Mic input
  26. - digital gain (adjust input volume levels with software, no knobs)
  27. - Sample and hold inputs for better sound
  28. - hardware sampling clock for crisper sound
  29. - power supply regulation for low noise operation
  30. - up to 35,000 samples per second

  63. Normally Perfect Sound comes with more demo sounds and a title
  64. screen.  These are not included in this demo, so the menu "Turn
  65. On Demo Sounds" will have no affect.

  67. To hear the sample sound:
  68.  
  69. 1. Select Open from Project Menu
  70. 2. Select file "demo.snd"
  71. 3. Select OK
  72. 4. Click on highlighted "demo.snd" to play
  73. 5. Drag mouse over graph to select range for use by editing options.
  74.  
  75. The buttons on the main screen are (top to bottom, left side first):
  76.  
  77. 1. Play Range - first load a sound (demo.snd included), mark a
  78.    range by dragging your mouse on the graph, then click this 
  79.    button.
  80. 2. Loop Range - Will cause the marked range to loop.  You can adjust 
  81.    the marked range while the sound is looping.  Click near the
  82.    end of the highlighted area to move just one end.  You can
  83.    also click  in the zoomed graph for precise adjustment.
  84. 3. Stop - stops any playing sounds
  85. 4. Set new play speed for current sample
  86. 5. Search for loop points.  Change search direction by clicking
  87.    in zoomed graphs.
  88. 6. Delete marked range
  89. 7. Paste - First mark a range. Next click this button. Then mark
  90.    paste point, in current or another sample, then click paste
  91.    again
  92. 8. Insert - similar to paste, except sounds are inserted not
  93.    mixed together
  94. 9. Create new slot from the marked range
  95. 10. Append two slots togther

  98. The Low Pass filter can take a LONG time.
  99. Set stack to 10,000 or greater before running. (At CLI type STACK 10000)
