Full description:
Here are my Topaz 8 & 11 replacement fonts. Features include:
-> "clean" (sans-serif)
-> large characters (most are seven pixels wide) for readability
-> extended ASCII characters (like Topaz -- for international use)
-> visible control characters (inverse graphics for ASCII 0-31)
-> works well for interlaced screens
Quasar 8 is an 8x8 mono-spaced font suitable for Topaz 8 replacement.
Quasar 11 is an 8x11 mono-spaced font suitable for Topaz 11 replacement.
I have had no problems using Quasar 8 for the past year and a half or so,
but because it has extra characters Topaz doesn't (the control characters),
some programs (including, apparently, the FastFonts program included with
WorkBench 1.3) may not work properly with it. For that situation, I have
included a version of Quasar called "QuasarT" which is more like Topaz,
because it does not have the control characters. If Quasar doesn't work
for you, try QuasarT.
To install the fonts automatically:
Execute Install_Quasar-seq
or Execute Install_QuasarT-seq
To install the fonts by hand, see the sequence files. Make sure to
copy Quasar-8 to FONTS:Quasar/8, and QuasarT-8 to FONTS:QuasarT/8
(i.e., the base names will change from "Quasar(T)-8" to just "8"),
and likewise for Quasar 11.
(Yes, I could have used subdirectories in the zoo file, but I didn't
want to have files with the same base name, just in case. :-)
Enjoy!
