  2.         MEDPlayer            Instructions for version 1.10

  5. MEDPlayer is a program for playing songs without MED. You can use it
  6. from both CLI and Workbench. Unlike MED, you have to specify paths
  7. for loading samples yourself.

  9. Usage from CLI:

  11.   The format of the command line:
  12.  
  13.     medplayer <song> <path1> <path2> ...
  14.  
  15.   <song> is the name of the song to be played.
  16.   <path> The name of the song is followed by the names of paths for loading
  17.          samples. There can be any number of paths, but at least one.

  19.   E.g. medplayer df0:songs/Song ST-01: df0:Instruments

  21.   If everything goes well, playing begins. It will stop when you press
  22.   Ctrl-C. You can also start MEDPlayer with the Run-command in the form of:

  24.     run medplayer <song> <path1> ...
  25.  
  26.   In that case you can't stop MEDPlayer with Ctrl-C. You must use the
  27.   Break-command. So, if the Run-command gives you for example [CLI 2],
  28.   type: break 2 c.
  29.   If you can't remember the number of the CLI, you can check it with
  30.   the Status-command.

  32. Usage from Workbench.

  34.   First you have to get the Project-type icon for the song from somewhere.
  35.   You can get it for example from the files of Notepad. The next version of
  36.   MED probably creates the icon automatically.

  38.   From WB, select the icon and choose "Info" from "Workbench"-menu. Type
  39.   "MEDPlayer" in "Defaul Tool"-field with its path (if it doesn't exist in
  40.   the same directory with MEDPlayer).
  41.   (e.g. dh0:music/MEDPlayer)

  43.   Type the correct path names for samples in "ToolTypes"-field. Use the
  44.   form:

  46.     PATH=path1|path2|path3...
  47.  
  48.   There has to be at least one path. You can also separate them with spaces.
  49.   Examples:

  51.     PATH=ST-01:
  52.     PATH=ST-01:|df0:Instruments
  53.     PATH=df1:Soittimet dh0:music/instruments

  55.   Then you can play the song by double-clicking its icon. If everything is
  56.   all right, a small window will open on the Workbench screen. Close it to
  57.   stop playing.
