  3. Welcome to another WAYNEPACE Score/Instrument File:

  5. This file contains 3 Scores, Maple Leaf Rag, Pine Apple Rag and
  6. The Entertainer. Now what good would 3 Scott Joplin Rags be without
  7. a rag time piano...therefore after much work with AEgis Audio Master
  8. and the SONIX Instrument Editor, I have included the 
  9. JoplinPacePiano instrument files.

  11. The real intent of this package is simple. Many people who buy
  12. SONIX get a little intimidated when trying to mix instruments to
  13. a score to make it sound good. Also, it would be nice to have a
  14. piano that sounds like a piano, no matter what type of score you
  15. were working on. Therefore, this package is made for your use.

  17. Personally, I use the JoplinPacePiano as the only instrument for
  18. my new SONIX scores, until I am able to hear what the music is
  19. supposed to sound like. Afterwards, I assign usually standard
  20. SONIX instrument files to fill in what I want to hear.

  22. By using this piano, you can get a good ear for what you are
  23. programming into SONIX. If you prefer to leave it in the piano
  24. voice you can, or mix SONIX compatable instruments with it.

  26. Probably, I have 20 different piano's in my files, and despite the
  27. fact I created this one, I still think it beats all the others. I
  28. hope you will too.

  30. This pak file is made up of the following:
  31.       Instrument.pak
  32.       Scores.pak
  33.       README! (This doc file).
  34.  
  35. After reading this doc, unpak the other two paks. Place the .smus
  36. and .smus.info (for Player users) in your Scores directory.
  37. Copy the .ss and .instr files to the Instruments directory. You
  38. then can immediately use your PLAYER or SONIX programs to run the
  39. 3 music files.

  41. If you use PLAYER, be sure to click on LED before listening to these
  42. files. LED turns off the low pass filter that was built into the
  43. Amy 500 and 2000, and makes an even more true piano.

  45. For both PLAYER and SONIX users: If you have not done so, and have
  46. the capability, connect your Amiga to a Stereo. The speaker in the
  47. monitor just does not give music files justice.

  49. Starting in late December or early January, I will be uploading
  50. pak's of Instrument files for SONIX from the Public Domain. These
  51. instruments will be grouped according to function such as Strings,
  52. Bass, Drums, ect. No two instruments will be totally the same, as
  53. minor modifications in some will allow you to use them with a
  54. particular type of music file, but not necessarily all...huh?? In
  55. other words, Cosmic Violins may sound good for Country Roads, but not
  56. for Sesame Street. For Seseme Street you may need Cosmic Violins II.

  58. I am always glad to hear from users of my files. If you are having
  59. trouble understanding SONIX, how it can be used, or how to fool the
  60. computer into doing things you didn't know it would do, drop me a
  61. line.

  63. This file is over 160,000 bytes long. It had to be because of the
  64. way I made the piano. Future Instrument Pak's will be about 1/10th
  65. to 1/5th (projected) that size, and contain (hopefully) 10 or more
  66. instruments per pak. If you decide to use these (and this)
  67. instruments in the future, and especially if you upload your file
  68. to a computer service, please make some sort of notation that
  69. non-standard SONIX instruments will be required, and list the ones
  70. that will be needed. One other "niceity", would be to tell the
  71. downloader where he can find this instrument if you did not include
  72. it in your uploaded pak, arc file, zoo file or whatever.
