Fun Paint
If you enjoy Amiga graphics but you don't want to invest in a professional
paint program, then Fun Paint is just the thing for you. It allows you to
create and edit paintings quickly and easily in all the Amiga graphic display
modes with up to 4096 different colors. It opens and saves Interchange File
Format (IFF) paintings so its compatible with many other Amiga programs.
Amiga
PLUS
Editor's Note:
We have had problems loading some IFF pictures into this program. Because
it is so small and can produce simple pictures in such a wide variety of
screen modes, we have included it on this disk anyway. Pictures must be
exactly the same size as the screen to load into FunPaint
Getting Started
You can open Fun Paint either directly or by opening a painting previously
created by it. If you open it directly, a requester containing a number of
different gadgets appears so that you can select a format for your painting.
You can open pictures created with other programs (assuming they are the
right size) by selecting the picture's icon, holding down the shift key, and
double clicking the FunPaint icon
The Low-Resolution Mode and High-Resolution Mode Gadgets are for selecting
horizontal resolution with High-Resolution Mode having twice as many
horizontal lines as Low-Resolution Mode. 2, 4, 8, 16, or 32 colors are
available with Low-Resolution Mode unless Extra-Halfbrite Mode (64 colors) or
Hold-and-Modify Mode (4096 colors) are active. 2, 4, 8, or 16 colors are
available with High-Resolution Mode.
The Non-Interlace Mode and Interlace Mode Gadgets are for selecting vertical
resolution with Interlace Mode having twice as many vertical lines as
Non-Interlace Mode.
The Extra-Halfbrite Mode Gadget is for selecting a special mode with 32
colors plus an additional 32 that are half as bright as the first 32 for a
total of 64 colors. Extra-Halfbrite Mode can't be used with High-Resolution
Mode or Hold-and-Modify Mode. Please note that Extra-Halfbrite Mode isn't
available on many early Amiga A1000s. If yours doesn't have it, then only 32
colors will seem to be available when it's active.
The Hold-and-Modify Mode Gadget is for selecting another special mode that
has 16 colors plus an additional 48 that change the amounts of red, green,
and blue that are in other colors so that a total of 4096 colors can be
displayed at one time. Hold-and-Modify Mode can't be used with
High-Resolution Mode or Extra-Halfbrite Mode. After you select the desired
combination of modes and colors, select OK to proceed.
