  4.               The Sozobon C Compiler
  5.  
  6.  
  7. A new freeware C compiler has been developed by Sozobon, Limited and is
  8. being distributed through bulletin board systems, networks of various
  9. kinds, and by direct mail. The package was written by Johann Ruegg, Tony
  10. Andrews, and Joe Treat and includes the following features:
  11.  
  12.   * Full K&R compiler supporting: bit fields, structure assignment,
  13.     structure parameters and return values, enumerations, and floating
  14.     point.
  15.  
  16.   * Full source code available at no additional cost.
  17.  
  18.   * Compiler includes: front-end, optimizer, assembler, and linker.
  19.  
  20.   * Code generation averages 5% to 15% better than Alcyon.
  21.  
  22.   * Uses Dale Schumacher's dLibs runtime library (version 1.2) for
  23.     runtime support.
  24.  
  25.   * Generates Alcyon-compatible object modules and libraries.
  26.  
  27.   * A complete package, including utilities like: cc, ar, size, nm, and
  28.     an enhanced version of a PD make program.
  29.  
  30.   * Includes a utility that removes local symbols from Alcyon libraries,
  31.     reducing their size by around 30%.

  33. The entire system is being distributed as freeware. If you receive this
  34. announcement, but are unable to find the compiler, you can order it from

  41. You'll receive one double-sided or two single-sided disks containing the
  42. compiler (source code and executables), documentation, and version 1.2
  43. of dLibs (includes source). Be sure to specify single or double-sided
  44. disks and include your full return address. The $10 charge covers shipping
  45. and handling only. The product itself is free.  You're encouraged to make
  46. copies for friends, upload it to bulletin boards, or put it in the disk
  47. library of your local user's group. Help us get the compiler distributed,
  48. so fewer people have to pay $10 for it, and we don't spend the rest of our
  49. lives copying floppies.
