  12. Permission for the non-commercial distribution of Exploration by Dr. Gandalf
  13. is hereby granted. Non-commercial distribution is defined as distribution
  14. by user groups, individuals, bulletin boards, and not for profit, public
  15. service public domain disk distributors.
  16. Any manufacturer of hardware or software is specifically enjoined from the
  17. public distribution of any part of Exploration by Dr. Gandalf, except
  18. if written arrangements are made with the author (not that I wouldn't be
  19. willing to make such arrangements).

  22. Now that we have finished with that silliness,

  24. 2. How it was made:
  25. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
  26. The original images were generated using Turbo Silver, a commercial
  27. ray-tracing program from Impulse Inc, which has a good object editor
  28. and very rapid image generation time. There are 190 images, totalling
  29. 1068580 bytes. The images were tweaked with PrismPlus (Impulse Inc) and
  30. Digi-Paint (New-Tek). After compression and assembly with Byte-by-Byte's
  31. public domain sequencer, MOVIE, the finished animation file is 479396 bytes
  32. long, which will run easily in a 1 meg Amiga.
  33. The sounds were digitized with Perfect Sound fron SunRize.

  35. 3. How to view it:

  37. To play it from a CLI:
  38.    - Put Exploration, Exploration.AUD, the four .SND files, and a copy of
  39.          MOVIE (version 1.2 or higher) in the same directory or
  40.          on the same disk
  41.    - CD to that disk or directory
  42.    - Set the STACK to 16000
  43.    - Type
  44.         1> Movie Exploration Exploration.Aud
  45.  
  46. To play it from Workbench:
  47.    - Put Exploration, Exploration.info, Exploration.Aud, the four .SND files, and
  48.          a copy of MOVIE (version 1.2 or higher) on the same disk
  49.    - Open the disk icon, and double-click the Exploration icon.
