- 3]FAST AMIGO: Arcade Game
- By JOHN GILMORE, Sacamento, CA
- 1]------------------------------
-
- This humorous arcade game requires a joystick.
- You control a sombreroed character who dashes and hops here and there
- to avoid persistent bulls on several levels connected by ladders. When your
- toreador gets hit by a bull, he flies into the air to the digitized yells
- of the crowd. With a level of tenacity most often seen in 12-year-old boys,
- you can work your way up in this game to higher levels. Scores can be saved.
- The graphics, animation and digitized sounds of this game are
- excellent.
- If you don't have a joystick, you can still get a flavor of the game
- while you're saving up the $11 or so one costs.
- Double-click the icon for the game in the main J window. It's actually
- a drawer, within which is another icon spelling out the name of the game:
- Fast Amigo. Double-click this icon and the game will load.
- Go to the top bar on the screen, depress the right mouse button, find
- the menu, and drag downward. At this point select any option except starting
- the game. You'll learn the simple rules and meet author John Gilmore.
- If you have a joystick, play the game by jumping the "Amigo" with the
- device's fire button and you'll learn to play as you go along.
- And if you don't have a joystick . . .
- Go ahead and select START from the options menu. When the game has
- loaded, you'll be asked to press the fire button on the joystick to start
- play. Instead, unplug the mouse from the No. 1 mouse port on the right of
- the machine and plug it in the No. 2 port. Pressing the left mouse button
- simulates pressing the fire button, and the game will start.
- You can use the left mouse button to get some jumping action out of the
- main character "Amigo," but it will be imprecise and chaotic.
- If you want to have some fun, use the joystick.
