WhaleTrace by Louis Markoya - 1988
====================================
WhaleTrace is an ALL rendered animation done to prove organic forms can be
reproduced and animated accurately with the Amiga. In addition it was produced
to show that ray tracing need not be chrome balls or checkered floos to be
interesting.
The Animation was produced with Turbo Silver 3.0 from Impulse. It consists of
32 frames and was rendered in the "Solid Model" mode. Render time for the
entire animation was under 3 hours. The waves were formed with Impulse's
Terrain program and brought into Turbo Silver.
They are a sequence of 8 different positions repeated 4 times. The whale was
formed in Turbo Silver by creating a "slice" of the whale and copying, rotating
and scaling it. Then the "skin" command formed the object. The animation gets
its length by utilizing the animation scripting called "movie"available within
Turbo Silver.
This Animation as well as the Silver Player program are freely distributable
as long as this file is kept with the Animation.
