Starting YourMoney
The first step you must take is to execute EXECUTE.ME in order to
rename the files, IE, after unarcing everything and with the files in the
current directory, type 'execute EXECUTE.ME' from the CLI.
Now move YourMoney.info and YourMoney into the same directory or sub-
directory. The program and required files will take about 400 blocks
(200 K) so use a disk that is less than half full.
The best idea is to dedicate a disk to just this function, your finances
deserve a seperate disk don't they?
Now double click on the icon or enter YourMoney from the CLI. To use the
CLI you must have a stack of at least 10000, the icon will take care of
this for you.
You will be asked a couple of questions, select 'OK' and 'YES' and the
needed files will be created on disk for you. You are now ready to start.
Refer to the .DOC file for more information.
If you are upgrading from YourMoneyV0.01 to V0.04 you will need to run
v01tov04 to upgrade to the new format. The transactions haven't
changed but other stuff did. This will also unclear all your transactions.
You'll need to reclear them to get the .act files correct. The use of the
categories has changed somewhat, they had no real defination before but
now 0 - 99 are accounts, 100 to 299 are expenses, 300 - 399 are income, 400
- 599 are reserved and 999 is a transfer. If you must redefine them I
can't help you, sorry. You will need to edit your category definations and
edit each transaction before reclearing them to get the correct answers.
If you haven't used V.01 you can ignore all this.
I've added Password protection to your accounts but also included a
utility (KillPW) that will remove a password if you forget it. You may
wish to keep it on another disk or erase it all together. There is no way
to find out what your password was if you forget.
