  77.     AMIC PD TERM is placed under  the  SHAREWARE  concept, which in a
  78.     very straight way means, "You  only  pay if you use/like it". For
  79.     this program it means, if you like the way this program is coming
  80.     along, and you understand that it is STILL under development, and
  81.     that you are going to be  testing  it out while we finish it, you
  82.     SHOULD become a  registered  user  of  this software. To get such
  83.     status, we ask for $30.00 payable to AMIC Development Corp.

  85.     Please include a SASE (Self Stamped Address Envelope),and a blank
  86.     FORMATED (1.2) disk if you wish to receive the current REGISTERED
  87.     USERS ONLY version on disk (currently .59).
  88.     Receiving a new release via a disk has a major advantage  to some
  89.     of you, the program is ready to go,just insert your disk when the
  90.     system asks for WB disk  and voila.

  92.     So, now that you know  that  this  program  is FREE if you DO NOT
  93.     like it, and CHEAP if you do, please  proceed  with these docs! I
  94.     really don't like to write in legal terms, so, I hope you GOT the
  95.     point!

  97.                               ** SPECIAL NOTE **
  98.     
  99.     By the way, becoming a  registered  user of AMIC PD TERM entitles
  100.     you to a $20.00 discount on our MAJOR  Telecommunications package
  101.     for the Amiga, "GraphTerm" (temporary  name,  GT-2000, is perhaps
  102.     the name it will get in  Washington!) More later about GraphTerm,
  103.     lets get used to AMIC PD TERM first! In addition to this,you will
  104.     be granted access to the special  AMIC PD TERM area on AMIC-2000,
  105.     our BBS  system, which is NOW multiuser  system. The same special
  106.     access is also granted to members of GEnie, where we also have a
  107.     section for REGISTERED users of AMIC PD TERM!
  108.     
  109.     Most important! This version of AMIC PD TERM doesn't have ALL the
  110.     available functions in a functional way. REGISTERED users are now
  111.     receiving (or about to) FULLY FUNCTIONAL versions of the program,
  112.     plus FULL documentation to the program (that's  what I am working
  113.     on right now! So,  REGISTERED USER, IF you can make without them,
  114.     the docs, that is,  you can call AMIC-2000 and get the program in
  115.     the REGISTERED USERS  section before  I mail it out to ya! If you
  116.     are a registered user,  but you haven't call AMIC-2000 yet, it'll
  117.     take some 24 hrs to validate you for access into this section.
  118.     Make SURE to leave EMAIL to the SYSOP asking for the access! Any-
  119.     way, I should be mailing you the disk no later than 10/09/87 with
  120.     complete documentation to the program.

  151.     If the problem  is of a BUG  nature,  which usually means you got
  152.     a system GURU (that red  box  with  some  numbers  and letters in
  153.     it!), or a system  lock up  (mouse  not  moving, or keyboard not
  154.     responding, or things like this (and you sure it was because AMIC
  155.     PD TERM!), PLEASE MAIL or UPLOAD (more in a bit) us a BUG report.
  156.     We have enclosed a bug report  form  to  make this task easier on
  157.     you.  Please complete as much as possible  in the report, it will
  158.     make the task of reproducing and correcting the bug (for your own
  159.     benefit) MUCH easier and faster.

  209.        o CONFIGURATION WINDOW: Allows you to configure the program
  210.             from one easy to use window. Once you have changed the
  211.             parameters to those you like, you can USE them instan-
  212.             tly, making the program to reconfigure to the changes.

  214.             NOTE: Version .59 allows the user to LOAD and SAVE the
  215.                   configurations into .Config files!

  217.        o INSTANT WINDOW: This is a  POINT & CLICK window for users
  218.             of AMIC-2000!  Yes, you can move from any menu on AMIC
  219.             BBS to anywhere in the system by just clicking on this
  220.             window! See for yourself, you will love it!

  222.             NOTE: We are developing an editor that creates INSTANT
  223.                   WINDOW files,  allowing the  creating  of CUSTOM

  272.        o TRANSFER PROTOCOLS: We have added two new transfer proto-
  273.             cols to the program!
  274.  
  275.             - XMODEM 1K: Also called plain YMODEM, transfers files
  276.                   MUCH faster than the traditional XMODEM protocol
  277.                   You can use this protocol to transfer files from
  278.                   AMIC-2000 BBS, and most BBS's that claim support
  279.                   of the YMODEM protocol.
  280.  
  281.             - YMODEM BATCH: This  is the TRUE  YMODEM Protocol. It
  282.                   supports BATCH transfers  of upto 50 files. When
  283.                   sending, AMIC PD TERM allows you to select files
  284.                   from different disks and drawers in your system,
  285.                   even in the SAME batch transfer! This is a NO NO
  286.                   with ANY other available terminal program!  This
  287.                   protocol does report a  variety of useful infor-
  288.                   mation in the new transfer window!

  290.             NOTE: YMODEM BATCH RECEIVE is  NOT  functional in this
  291.                  freely distributable  version of AMICTERM, but it
  292.                  sure is in the version for REGISTERED users!

  373.        o EDITOR ENHANCEMENTS: You can now pass a filename to the
  374.             selected Editor when using the Amiga EDITOR function.

  376.        o UNARC: You can set your favorite ARC programs on AMIC PD,
  377.          and use it to unARC files without touching your CLI. Just
  378.          select the file to UnARC from the File Requester, and let
  379.          AMIC pass the arguments to yer ARC program to do the job!
  380.          Any multitasking ARC program should work!

  383.        o LOCK/UNLOCK THE SIDEBAR: You can now Lock your SideBar to
  384.          the current status, meaning  that if it is VISIBLE, it'll
  385.          stay visible regardless of your mouse clicks, or it won't
  386.          pop up when not wanted if you LOCK it when not VISIBLE.
  387.          Just UnLock it to regain full mouse control of it.

  402.        o REVIEW BUFFER: Use the UP and DOWN arrow keys of the key-
  403.            board to review your I/O on the fly!  You can go up and
  404.            down with this keys,  and close anytime  with the  LEFT
  405.            arrow key!  You can even  review the buffer while down-
  406.            loading files!  What's about that!  You can specify the
  407.            size of this buffer by changing the BUFFER field in the
  408.            .Config file, from 2000 Bytes to 32000 bytes.

  411.        o AND MUCH MUCH MORE: Yes, and there are many new things in
  412.            the program for you to find, like SEARCH/SET capability
  413.            in the Phone  Directory,  Buffered Input  in Chat Mode,
  414.            TRUE Borderless windows, improved autodialing, and much
  415.            much more!
