- FONTASSIGN is a program to use from WorkBench similar to the CLI command
- 1> ASSIGN FONTS: NewFontPath
-
- Just click on the icon to inform the operating system where to search
- for fonts. The operating system "assigns" a default home directory at
- startup time, and until changed searches for the list of available fonts
- in this default fonts home directory. Normally this directory is named
- "FONTS", but may be named anything else too. If you want to use fonts
- from another disk you have to inform the operating system exactly where
- it is supposed to search. This included diskname, and any directory path
- such as "df1:fonts", or "df2:fonts/SpecialFonts", or
- "HD0:Fonts/Colorfonts" etc.
-
- Just type the correct path into the typing area of the requestor window
- to set a new fonts home fdirectory.
-
- Be WARNED! If you have a disk named "FONTS" in any drive, you cannot
- change the fonts path until you have removed or renamed that disk.
-
- WARNING 2: Disks named "FONTS" have higher priority than directories,
- and if you insert a disk named "FONTS" you will change the path from
- your chosen disk to the root directory of the "FONTS" disk.
-
- WARNING 3: Some programs load a list of fonts at the time they are
- started (like NOTEPAD), so if you reassign the fonts home directory
- after startup you will have a list which is invalid and the program will
- not be able to find fonts in either the new or the old locations!
