Rick Stiles

When you register, print this page on your printer. Circle what you are
paying for and send it in with your order.
All payments must be in cash, check, or money order, in U.S. currency.
NOTE: When you register, include the Serial Number of the Uedit you are
using. You can see the serial number by selecting "Show vals" in the menu.
Uedit registration is $35. When you register, you will receive:
* a registered user Serial Number.
* $10 sales commissions for finding new users.
* the latest Uedit-Share diskette which can be freely distributed.
* the latest Non-Shareware Uedit which can be fully customized.
* Extras, configs and utilities to use with Uedit. (See Extras below.)
* full Uedit documentation on diskette.
WHEN registering (only):
* If you want a printed manual instead of manual on diskette, add $10.
* To receive the next upgrade automatically, $10.
Registered users:
* 2 diskettes, latest Shareware and Non-Shareware Uedit & manual, $18.
* printed manual, $15.
* Uedit Newsletter for one year, $12.
* advance notice of upgrades for one year, $12.
Anybody, registered or non-registered:
* The latest Uedit-Share diskette, $10.
* SetKey diskette that lets you create custom keymaps for your Amiga,
such as for dvorak or to make one-key commands for CLI, $25.
If you purchased a pre-V1.7 Uedit commercially, you can register by
sending your original, purchased disk and $15.
As a registered user, you will earn a $10 commission each time somebody
registers off your serial numbered copy of Uedit. Commissions are paid
monthly. NOTE: If the commission rate is increased, it applies to ALL
previously registered users. You don't need to re-register or anything.
The quarterly Newsletter discusses new upgrades and features, editing tricks,
new commands, configs created by users, frequently asked questions,
complaints and requested features, plans for future upgrades, bugs, and other
topics.
Distributing Uedit
I really do encourage you to give away copies of your Uedit-Share diskette.
When you give away copies, you must observe the following restrictions:
*** You must distribute ALL of Uedit's Shareware FILES together:
Cheat-Sheet d Data! DU-Data!
Help! UE-Init UE-Init.info Uedit-Policy
Uedit-ReadMe UEDU-ReadMe UES UES.info
*** You must NOT MODIFY any files except for putting your serial number
into UES.
*** You must NOT distribute copies of the printed or diskette Manual.
*** You must NOT distribute ANY of the files on your Non-Shareware
Uedit diskette.
*** You MUST use Uedit COPYRIGHT notices on Uedit files.
*** You MUST use Uedit TRADEMARK notices on "Uedit".
You may include your own files along with Uedit, put files on several
diskettes, distribute files via modem, or compress files, as long as their
contents remain unchanged.
You may print, copy, and distribute the Help!, Cheat-Sheet and other text
files in the Uedit directory of your Uedit-Share diskette.
Due to high piracy resulting in very low support, I cannot allow you to
distribute Config files. When you create custom configs, please distribute
ONLY your Data files. You may give your config files to other registered
Uedit users, if you wish.
Amiga clubs may want to encourage their members to register off the club's
registered copy, as a good way to earn money for the club.
NOTE: Do NOT tell people to register by subtracting your commission from the
amount they send in. This is Important: If I allow people to subtract off
the commission, users can be cheated out of commissions they are entitled to.
I can't allow this. You must give people a note with your signature on it to
include when they register, so that I have got Proof that you are waiving
your commission.
Please USE the commissions! This will bring in support so that I can get
paid for my work and can contribute more work to Amiga shareware.
In distributing Uedit and encouraging registrations, you will be supporting
upgrades and supporting the next good program for shareware.
And your feedback is important too. Most of the improvements in Uedit since
the beginning have been in response to feedback from its users.
Uedit and Shareware
Shareware is a generous, trusting concept which treats you like an honest
person, rather than presuming that you are not, as, for instance, copy
protection does.
Shareware programs have got to be superior, because you get to try them out
thoroughly at home or in the office before buying them. Many commercial
programs would not survive this acid test.
You are allowed to try out a Shareware program for as long as you require, in
order to decide whether you are going to use it or not.
If you USE it, you must BUY it. Only THEN does the Shareware author get
paid for his work and expenses for creating the program you are using.
Uedit depends ENTIRELY upon:
* Your honesty in paying its author, if you use Uedit.
* Your cooperation in safeguarding Uedit's Shareware "hooks" and
protections, by not distributing its Non-Shareware files.
* Your assistance in finding new support.
Thank you for supporting Uedit in Shareware!
**************************************
Here are the Extras on Uedit's diskettes (NOTE: These are NOT being sold by
me, they are shareware or public domain and are merely included on Uedit's
diskettes as extras. Your payment is strictly for Uedit, not for these.):
* Hayes Haugen's BlitzFonts ($10) shareware program that speeds up text
displaying. (Speed up the text on your Amiga and send Hayes $10
to get his improved version!)
* Tom Althoff's turbo-C config for Aztec C (tm).
* John Smith's Modula-2 config.
* Kurt Wessel's UStar config, emulates WordStar(tm) and Scribble!(tm)
* UE-DU Directory Utility config which uses V2.1 or later.
* Spooler, print spooler.
* D, directory program.
* CRC, data checker program.
* SetFont and doc by Dave Haynie.
* Hard disk backup utility & source code by Charles Carter.
* SetKeyDemo, demo of Charles Carter's SetKey, keymaps for Ed, Z & CLI.
More extras will be added. Send in your configs, if you want them included.
