- WHAT'S NEW IN 22DISK AND 22NICE
-
- 22NICE Version 1.24
- 22DISK Version 1.24
-
- November 29, 1988
-
-
- Many changes have been made to 22DISK and 22NICE in response to
- our customers' requests. We believe that these products are the
- best ever, without equal even in the commercial market.
-
-
- 22DISK
-
- 22DISK has discarded the slow batch file menu driver CMENU.BAT
- and replaced it with CMENU.EXE , which incorporates the menu in-
- terface in a single program. The following files are no longer
- included in 22DISK :
-
- CMENU.BAT
- CINFO.EXE
- LINEGET.COM
- CONCASE.COM
- MENTEXT.TXT
-
- Otherwise, operation using CMENU is identical to that of previous
- versions. We've also included a few "bug" fixes regarding opera-
- tion with PC AT-type systems.
-
-
- 22NICE
-
- 22NICE has been reworked so that the resident may take one of
- three forms:
-
- 1. A device driver ( 22RES.SYS ). This is the same as in
- previous versions, and is documented in the 22NICE
- reference documentation.
-
- 2. A terminate-and-stay-resident (TSR) program. If the
- device driver form of 22NICE is not present, simply
- typing:
-
- 22NICE
-
- will cause resident emulator software to be loaded.
- The 22NICE resident occupies about 20,000 bytes in base
- memory. The resident may be removed from memory by
- typing:

- RMVNICE
-
- 3. If 22NICE is not present in either of the above forms,
- the emulation software will be loaded "on demand" each
- time a CP/M application is executed and unloaded
- (removed from memory) when that application terminates.
- This is perhaps the most convenient way to provide
- emulation support. However, the SAVE function is not
- supported in this mode; either the TSR form (2) or the
- device driver (1) must be specified.
-
- In order to make use of this operating mode, the file
- 22NICE.COM must be located somewhere in the current
- search path of drives and subdirectories. Consult your
- DOS reference manual for detail on specifying the
- search path ( PATH statement).
-
- The following files have been added to the 22NICE product set:
-
- 22NICE.COM
- RMVNICE.COM
-
- Version 1.24 also contains fixes to several "bugs".
