OCR: Halley's Comet is Coming! Halley's comet is returning after 76 years - it becomes visible late this year, then most prominent in April, 1986. To see the comet you will need to know where and when to look. The sky must be APRIL clear and dark, so viewing away from city lights is a must. These sky charts show the positions of Halley's (rhymes with 'valley") NORTH comet as seen from northern U.S. at various STAR times. Distance on the charts is measured by the width of an outstretched hand. Remember, the Big Dipper always points FEBRUARY to the North Star, which is due north.
