EXP:Sadducees by Jim Fox
The Sadducees were a Jewish sect, and an opponent of the Pharisees.
The members were few in number, but they were educated and usually
wealthy.
In distinction from the Pharisees:
They denied the resurrection (Matt 22:23-33).
They denied the existance of angels and spirits (Acts 23:8).
They placed no credence in the supernatural.
They had members in the priesthood and the Sanhedrin.
They declared that only the written Law was obligatory not all of
the traditions of the elders.
Jesus warned His disciples to beware of the teachings of the
Pharisees and the Sadducees (Matt 16:12).
