  1.                  YOUR TESTAMENT ... A TESTIMONY

  7.     "For a testament is of force after men  are dead: otherwise it 
  8. is of no strength at all while the testator liveth." Hebrews 9:17 
  9. God,  in Hebrews, used  the example of  a testament to explain 
  10. the  new covenant that He established through the life, death, and 
  11. resurrection of Jesus  Christ. This covenant  between God and  man 
  12. was established by the tangible proof of the death of the testator 
  13. (cf. v. 16), God Himself in the person of Jesus Christ. 
  14.  
  15.     A  legal  "testament,"  or  will,  is  defined   in  Webster's 
  16. dicrionary as "an act by which a person determines the disposition 
  17. of his property after his death." 
  18.  
  19.     Following our Lord's  example, we, too, can use  our last will 
  20. and testament to declare His New Testament in  Jesus Christ to all 
  21. the  world.  How?  By  making  provision  for the preaching of the 
  22. Gospel in our will. 
  23.  
  24.     Yes,  your  last  will  and  testament  can  become part of an 
  25. eternal testimony to  the living hope that abides  in Jesus Christ 
  26. through faith. Not only  can you faithfully and  carefully provide 
  27. for  the  needs  of  your  surviving  loved ones, but you can make 
  28. provision  for  the  preaching  of  the  Gospel  by including your 
  29. church, missions, or organizations like Family Radio in your will. 
  30.  
  31.     This is just one  more way that we can see the marvelous truth 
  32. of Romans 8:28 working for  us. "And we know that all  things work 
  33. together for  good to them that  love God, to them  who are called 
  34. according to his purpose." 
  35.  
  36.     Yes, even  our death, as  the death of  Christ our Savior, can 
  37. testify  to the  reality of  eternal life  through faith  in God's 
  38. Provision. We can testify  through our last will and  testament to 
  39. all the world that the Lord indeed reigns.
