  2.           "WHAT WILL PEOPLE THINK?"
  3.  
  4.      You know perfectly well that if you come out openly as
  5. a believer in Jesus Christ, that some people will criticize
  6. you, and you might be afraid of this.
  7.  
  8.      This fear of what other people will think is a real
  9. road-block for many who are afraid either to receive Christ
  10. at all, or to quit being "secret believers" and "come out
  11. of the closet."
  12.  
  13.      This fear demonstrates a warped sense of values.
  14.      Q: Who is the Most Important Person in the universe?
  15.      A: The One who created it, the One who is listening to
  16. your every word and watching your every action; the One to
  17. whom you will someday give an account for your every deed,
  18. word, thought, attitude and motive.  He is the One you
  19. should be most eager to please.
  20.  
  21.      The Lord Jesus said to a bunch of public-relations
  22. -conscious people, "How can you believe, who receive honor
  23. from one another, and do not seek the honor that comes from
  24. the only God?" (John 5:44 NKJ)
  25.  
  26.      Being honored by God is a much bigger matter than the
  27. petty recognitions or criticisms of materialistic
  28. worldlings.
  29.  
  30.      Possibly, some of the very people whose criticisms you
  31. fear would actually respect and honor someone (such as
  32. yourself) willing to take a stand for Jesus Christ openly.
  33.  
  34.      Read the Gospel of John for yourself, and notice
  35. Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimathea.  They were two religious
  36. leaders who secretly sympathized with Jesus, but had a
  37. great deal to lose if they came out for Him openly.
  38.  
  39.      Don't worry about "what people will think." Put your
  40. full trust in Jesus the Messiah of Israel, as your
  41. sin-bearing Savior and the Lord of your life.  Confess Him
  42. openly as your Redeemer and King and loving Friend.
  43.  
  44.      The angels of God will do handsprings for joy, and GOD
  45. will be mightily pleased with you.
  46.  
  47.      We'd like to meet you and encourage you and try to
  48. answer your questions.  We would be overjoyed to hear you
  49. confess your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
  50.      Put your full trust in Him, RIGHT NOW.  Come by and
