  1. INS:If Jesus came to your house.

  3.  If Jesus came to your house
  4.     to spend a day or two
  5.  If he came unexpectedly,
  6.     I wonder what you'd do.
  7.  Oh, I know you'd give your nicest room
  8.     to such an honered Guest,
  9.  And all the food you'd serve to Him
  10.     would be the very best,
  11.  And you keep assuring Him
  12.     you're glad to have Him there
  13.  That serving Him in your own home
  14.     is joy beyond compare.
  15.  
  16.  But when you saw Him coming,
  17.     would you meet Him at the door
  18.  With arms outstreched in welcome
  19.     to your heavenly Visitor?
  20.  Or would you have to change your clothes
  21.     before you let Him in?
  22.  Or hide some magazines
  23.     and put the Bible where they'd been?
  24.  Would you turn off the radio
  25.     and hope He hadn't heard?
  26.  And wish you hadn't uttered
  27.     that last, loud, hasty word?
  28.  
  29.  Would you hide your worldly music
  30.     and put some hymn books out?
  31.  Could you let Jesus walk right in,
  32.     or would you rush about?
  33.  And I wonder if the Savior spent
  34.     a day or two with you,
  35.  Would you go right on doing
  36.     the things you always do?
  37.  Would you go right on saying
  38.     the things you always say?
  39.  Would life for you continue
  40.     as it does from day to day?
  41.  
  42.  Would your family conversation
  43.     keep up its usual pace?
  44.  And would you find it hard each meal
  45.     to say a table grace?
  46.  Would you sing the songs you always sing,
  47.     and read the books you read,
  48.  And let him know the things on which
  49.     your mind and spirit feed?
  50.  Would you take Jesus with you
  51.     everywhere you'd planned to go?
  52.  Or would you, maybe, change your plans
  53.     for just a day or so?
  54.  
  55.  Would you be glad to have Him meet
  56.     your very closest friends?
  57.  Or would you hope they'd stay away
  58.     until His visit ends?
  59.  Would you be glad to have Him stay
  60.     forever on and on?
  61.  Or would you sigh with great relief
  62.     when He at last was gone?
  63.  It might be interesting to know
  64.     the things that you would do
  65.  If Jesus Christ in person came
  66.     to spend some time with you.
