  3. PANIC!

  5. Let someone shout "FIRE!" in a crowded building, and immediately people act
  6. like animals as they trample each other to reach the doors.
  7.  
  8. Let a rumor start that there will be a shortage of sugar or oil or any
  9. product, and immediately panic buying results. People stockpile all they can
  10. get with no thought of the needs of others.
  11.  
  12. Rich panic. Poor panic. Cultured, educated people panic. No one is immune when
  13. faced with a situation which threatens his life and welfare.
  14.  
  15. One of these days such a tremendous panic will occur that "... the kings of
  16. the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and
  17. the mighty men, and every bond man, and every free man, hid themselves in the
  18. dens and in the rocks of the mountains; and said to the mountains and rocks,
  19. Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and
  20. from the wrath of the Lamb. For the great day of his wrath is come; and who
  21. shall be able to stand? (Revelation 6:15-17)

  23. Who is the Lamp? What is the great day of his wrath?
  24.  
  25. In olden days lambs were often used for sacrifice. So this name was given to
  26. Jesus Christ. He came to earth once as a sacrifice. He lived a life of love,
  27. humility, and service, and then gave his life for man's sin.
  28.  
  29. But Jesus Christ is God Himself. And instead of being honored and accepted,
  30. His name is blasphemed. His laws are ridiculed. His rightful claims are
  31. denied. His loved is spurned. His offer of salvation is rejected.
  32.  
  33. One day He is coming back in power and majesty. The first time He came to
  34. save. The second time to judge! When will He come? Possibly today or next week
  35. or centuries from now. No one knows. But He will come.
  36.  
  37. It will be a terrible day for those who have rejected Him. They will panic!
  38. They will cry to the mountains, "Fall on us!"
  39.  
  40. Countless millions, however, will rejoice to see their Savior and Friend.
  41. These have accepted His death as the payment for their sins. They acknowledge
  42. Him as Lord. They obey His commandments and honor His name.
  43.  
  44. To which group do you belong? Only in this life can you choose. There is no
  45. second chance. Today is the day of salvation. Today may be your last day! Flee
  46. from the wrath to come!
  47.  
  48. But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my
  49. Father only.
  50.  
  51. But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
  52. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking,
  53. marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark,
  54. and knew not until the flood came, and took them away; so shall also the
  55. coming of the Son of man be.

  57. Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
  58. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other
  59. left.
  60.  
  61. Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. But know this,
  62. that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come,
  63. he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.
  64. Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man
  65. cometh.
