  2.     If Jesus came to your house.

  4.  If Jesus came to your house to spend a
  5.     day or two
  6.  If he came unexpectedly, I wonder what
  7.     you'd do.
  8.  Oh, I know you'd give your nicest room
  9.     to such an honered Guest,
  10.  And all the food you'd serve to Him
  11.     would be the very best,
  12.  And you keep assuring Him
  13.     you're glad to have Him there
  14.  That serving Him in your own home is
  15.     joy beyond compare.
  16.  
  17.  But when you saw Him coming,
  18.     would you meet Him at the door
  19.  With arms outstreched in welcome to
  20.     your heavenly Visitor?
  21.  Or would you have to change your
  22.     clothes before you let Him in?
  23.  Or hide some magazines and put the
  24.     Bible where they'd been?
  25.  Would you turn off the radio and hope
  26.     He hadn't heard?
  27.  And wish you hadn't uttered that last,
  28.     loud, hasty word?
  29.  
  30.  Would you hide your worldly music and
  31.     put some hymn books out?
  32.  Could you let Jesus walk right in, or
  33.     would you rush about?
  34.  And I wonder if the Savior spent
  35.     a day or two with you,
  36.  Would you go right on doing the things
  37.     you always do?
  38.  Would you go right on saying the things
  39.     you always say?
  40.  Would life for you continue as it does
  41.     from day to day?
  42.  
  43.  Would your family conversation keep
  44.     up its usual pace?
  45.  And would you find it hard each meal
  46.     to say a table grace?
  47.  Would you sing the songs you always
  48.     sing, and read the books you read,
  49.  And let him know the things on which
  50.     your mind and spirit feed?
  51.  Would you take Jesus with you every-
  52.     where you'd planned to go?
  53.  Or would you, maybe, change your plans
  54.     for just a day or so?
  55.  
  56.  Would you be glad to have Him meet
  57.     your very closest friends?
  58.  Or would you hope they'd stay away
  59.     until His visit ends?
  60.  Would you be glad to have Him stay
  61.     forever on and on?
  62.  Or would you sigh with great relief
  63.     when He at last was gone?
  64.  It might be interesting to know the
  65.     things that you would do
  66.  If Jesus Christ in person came to spend
  67.     some time with you.
