  3.    John 10:7-14
  4.  
  5.    Jesus Knows Your Name. I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep,
  6. and am known by My own. John 10:14
  7.  
  8.    I received a clipping that pointed out an interesting part about
  9. shepherds . Sheep in a flock all look alike to the untrained eye, but a
  10. good shepherd can tell them apart. Usually he does this by recognizing
  11. their defects and peculiar traits. A man who was tending a large flock
  12. explained this to a Christian friend. " See that sheep over there?"
  13. said the shepherd. "Notice how it toes in a little. The one behind it
  14. has a squint; the next one has a patch of wool off it's back; ahead is
  15. one with a distinguishing black mark." Looking over the flock, the
  16. friend was impressed that the shepherd could be so familiar with each
  17. animal. Then he thought about Christ, the Chief Shepherd . Like a
  18. sheepherder, He also knows the individual marks of the members of His
  19. flock, and He watches over each with discerning love and sympathetic
  20. understanding. He notes the doubts, fears, trials and defeats that
  21. disturb their peace, and He comes to their aid.

  23.    Fellow Christians, you or I may appear to the world to be just
  24. another face in the crowd, a number in a computer, but "the Lord knows
  25. those who are His"(2 Tim.2:19). People may pay no attention to us, or
  26. they may refuse to allow for our inadequacies. Jesus, however, who
  27. knows all about us, graciously forgives our sins and ministers strength
  28. to our weaknesses.

  30.    How this truth shroud comfort our hearts! Our Good Shepherd not only
  31. knows our name(John 10:30), but He also knows our needs. -H.G.B.

  35.    I leave them not in trials alone;

  37.    I will be with them to the end,
  38.  
  39.    Their Hope, their Joy,their dearest Friend....
