  1. DEV:God Forgive me when I whine.

  3.    Today, upon a bus, I saw a lovely maid with golden hair, I envied
  4. her, she seemed so gay, and I wished I were as fair.
  5.  
  6.    When suddenly she rose to leave, I saw her hobble down the aisle;
  7. she had one foot, and used a crutch, but as she passed, she had a
  8. smile.
  9.  
  10.    Oh, God forgive me when I whine; I have two feet, the world is
  11. mine.

  13.    And when I stopped to buy some sweets, The lad who sold them had
  14. such charm.  I talked with him, he said to me, It's nice to talk to
  15. men like you,  You see, he said I'm blind.

  17.    Oh, God forgive me when I whine;  I have two eyes, the world is
  18. mine.

  20.    Then, as I passed along the way, I saw a child with eyes of blue.
  21. He stood and watched the others play; it seemed he knew not what to
  22. do.  I stopped for a moment; and then I said, "Why don't you join the
  23. others, dear?" He looked ahead without a word, and then I knew he
  24. could not hear.

  26.    Oh, God forgive me when I whine; I have two ears, the world is
  27. mine.

  29.    With feet to take me where I'd go,
  30.    With eyes to see the sunsets glow,
  31.    With ears to hear what I would know,
  32.    I'm blessed indeed.
