  23. separate   sheet  of  paper.   Write  down  your 
  24. questions  and  doubts  and mail them back to us 
  25. so  that  we might "present everyone perfect" in 
  26. Christ, [Colossians 1:28].

  29. [1]  On  whom  did  Peter say God would pour out 
  30. His  Holy  Spirit?   And do we live in the "last 
  31. days"?

  33. [2]  What  will  be some of the things that will 
  34. take place when this happens?

  37. and "visions" have not stopped?

  155. In  other words, a missionary.  These men listed 
  156. above  we  not  of  the original 12 nor did they 
  157. have  the  hands  of  the  12 laid on them.  How 
  158. then could they do miracles?

  160.             DID SPIRITUAL GIFTS STOP?
  161.  
  162. 1 CORINTHIANS 13:8-13
  163. [32]  If  you  say that miraculous gifts stopped 
  164. what   other   gifts   must  we  also  say  have 
  165. stopped?   To assume this one must say all gifts 
  166. have  stopped, i.e. teachers, evangelists, those 
  167. able to help others and administration.
  168.  
  169. [33]   After   reading  the  following  passages 
  170. explain  what  Paul  means when he says we shall 
  171. see  "face  to  face".   In  short,  what is the 
  172. "perfect"   that   will   come?    1  John  3:2, 
  173. Colossians 3:1-4, 2 Corinthians 3:18
  174.  
  175. This   passage  is  not  saying  that  when  the 
  176. "Bible"    appears   gifts   will   stop.    The 
  177. perfection  that  is  coming, is Jesus!  When we 
  178. see  Jesus  "face  to  face"  then  we  shall no 
  179. longer  need  gifts.   The Bible does not have a 
  180. "face"!  What  we  "know  in part" is the living 
  181. Word,  i.e.  Jesus.  When we finally meet Him we 
  182. shall  see  "him  as  he is".  The only ones who 
  183. say  that  the  Bible is the perfection that was 
  184. to  come,  or those who ministry is not the Holy 
  185. Spirit.   Their  ministry  is a ministry of dead 
  186. ink,  {2  Corinthians  3:3}.   They  are in deep 
  187. need of repentance.

  190. [34] What is the point Jesus is teaching here?

  198. Therefore  let  us  be  assured  that  spiritual 
  199. gifts  are  very  much for today.  They are very 
  200. much  needed. They are needed to build OTHERS up 
  201. in  the  Lord, {1 Peter 4:10}.  So begin to obey 
  202. 1 Corinthians 14:1 that says,

  210.              SPIRITUAL GIFTS: PART 2
  211.       "Now about spiritual gifts, brothers
  212.        I do not want you to be ignorant."
  213.                1 Corinthians 12:1
  214.  
  215.                      TONGUES
  216.  
  217. Some  say  that  unless you speak in tongues you 
  218. have  not  been  baptized  in  the  Holy Spirit.  
  219. Such  teachings  are nothing more than a worship 
  220. of  tongues.   For scripture very clearly states 
  221. that  not  everyone  will  receive  the  gift of 
  222. tongues.  For as scripture says;
  223.  
  224.      "We have different gifts, according to
  225.      the grace given us."  -Romans 12:6
  226.  
  227. Answer the following questions:
  228.  
  229. 1.   Does this passage mean that to different
  230.      people different gifts are given?
  231.  
  232.               1 CORINTHIANS 12:7-11
  233. "To one there is given through the Spirit the..
  234.      message of wisdom
  235.      to another knowledge
  236.      to another faith
  237.      to another gifts of healing
  238.      to another miraculous powers
  239.      to another prophecy
  240.      to another distinguishing between spirits
  241.      to another tongues
  242.      to another the interpretation of
  243.      tongues...
  244.  
  245.           ...he gives them to each man,
  246.              just as he determines."
  247.  
  248.                         ANSWER                 
  249.  
  250. {Now  do not begin to say to yourself,"This only 
  251. applies   to   the  Body,  when  the  church  is 
  252. gathered  together".   For  we  are apart of the 
  253. Body  of  Christ  whether  we  are gathered in a 
  254. building or not.}
  255.  
  256. Now we read in 1 Corinthians 12:27-28,
  257.  
  258. "Now  you  are  the body of Christ, and each one 
  259. of  you  is a part of it.  And in the church God 
  260. has  appointed  first  of  all  apostles, second 
  261. prophets,   third   teachers,  then  workers  of 
  262. miracles,  also  those  having gifts of healing, 
  263. those  able  to help others, those with gifts of 
  264. administration,  and those speaking in different 
  265. kinds of tongues."
  266.  
  267. 2.   Now answer the following questions posed 
  268.      to us in 1 Corinthians 12:29-30.
  269.  
  270.      "Are all apostles?"                       
  271.  
  272.      "Are all prophets?"                       
  273.  
  274.      "Are all teachers?"                       
  275.  
  276.      "Are all workers of miracles?"            
  277.  
  278.      "Do all have gifts of healing?"           
  279.  
  280.      "Do all interpret tongues?"              
  281.  
  282. Now  in  the same way you answered the questions 
  283. above you should answer the next one.
  284.  
  285.      "Do all speak in tongues"?              
  286.  
  287. In summary scripture very clearly says,
  288.  
  289.      "We have different gifts, according to
  290.      the grace given us."  -Romans 12:6
  291.  
  292.                 "PRAYER LANGUAGE"
  293.  
  294. Now  this  unbiblical  term "prayer language" is 
  295. often  used  to  justify  that  everyone  should 
  296. speak  in tongues.  In the first place there are 
  297. some  very  strong  warnings  in scripture about 
  298. making up words like "prayer language",
  299. see 1 Peter 4:11, Deuteronomy 12:32 etc..
  300.  
  301. ROMANS   8:26  is  not  referring  to  a  prayer 
  302. language  we  have,  but  to the fact that as we 
  303. pray  to  God  the  Spirit  will "intercede" for 
  304. us.   Indeed,  the  scripture  here very clearly 
  305. says  that  we  cannot  possibly  be speaking in 
  306. tongues  for..."words  cannot  express" what the 
  307. Spirit  is  "groaning".  Your  mouth  and  vocal 
  308. cords  could  not possibly begin to express what 
  309. the Spirit is saying.
  310.  
  311. This  is the same way that a mother will explain 
  312. to   another  person  what  her  baby  child  is 
  313. saying.   The mother is not speaking through the 
  314. child,  but  is  interceding for the child.  For 
  315. we  are all babies in Jesus and "do not know how 
  316. to pray" but the Spirit "intercedes" for us.
  317.  
  318.    "I WOULD LIKE EVERYONE TO SPEAK IN TONGUES"
  319.  
  320. When Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 14:5 that,
  321. "I would like every one of you to speak in  
  322. tongues",  he is making the point that not every 
  323. one  does.   That  not  everyone  will  speak in 
  324. tongues  for  Paul  had  just made that clear in 
  325. his  letter  to  the  Corinthians.  We each have 
  326. different  gifts.  Paul is just pointing out the 
  327. obvious.   That he would rejoice if everyone did 
  328. speak  in  tongues,  but  not  every one does or 
  329. will.
  330.                      IN ACTS
  331. Still  people like to say that in Acts, whenever 
  332. the  Holy  Spirit  was  given, everyone spoke in 
  333. tongues.   That simply is not true.  Tongues are 
  334. only  one  of  the  manifestations of the Spirit 
  335. given.  Times tongues are mentioned:
  336.         Acts 2:1-4, 10:46, 19:5-7
  337.  
  338. Instead the Spirit comes mostly with*
  339.      *Revealing the glory of God.
  340.      Acts 2:11, 2:23-33, 5:12-13, 6:3, 7:55
  341.      *Having everything in common.
  342.      Acts 2:42-46, 4:32-35
  343.      *Conviction and the revealing of sin.
  344.      Acts 2:23, 2:37, 4:10, 7:51, 8:18-23
  345.      *Power and courage.
  346.      Acts 4:8-9, 4:29-31, 9:17-20, 5:9-10
  347.  
  348. Scripture   never  declares  that  tongues  were 
  349. always  given  when  the  baptism  of the Spirit 
  350. comes.    It   just  says  that  they  "saw  the 
  351. evidence  of".   Which  could mean any number of 
  352. manifestations  of  the  Spirit.  What we see is 
  353. that  when  the  Spirit  is poured out different 
  354. things  take  place.  In one place they spoke in 
  355. tongues  and  praised God.  While at other times 
  356. they  spoke  in  tongues  and  prophesied.   For 
  357. again,  God  gives as "he determines" and not as 
  358. you try to make him do.
  359.  
  360. "All  these are the work of the one and the same 
  361. Spirit,  and  he gives them to each one, just as 
  362. he determines."         -1 Corinthians 12:11 
  363.  
  364. To  say  that  God  gives  tongues  or a "prayer 
  365. language"  to  everyone  would  be to totally go 
  366. against  all of what scripture reveals.  Indeed, 
  367. there  is  no  such thing as a "prayer language" 
  368. mentioned  in  scripture.   It is something that 
  369. has   come   from   the   imagination   of  men.  
  370. Pentecostals  and  other  groups have missed the 
  371. point  that  all  who  are  water  baptized have 
  372. received the baptism of the Holy Spirit,
  373. {Acts 2:38}.
  374.  
  375.             BEING SLAIN IN THE SPIRIT
  376. The  phenomena of "being slain in the Spirit" is 
  377. very  unbiblical  and sinful.  It opens up doors 
  378. to  the  demonic  world.   Any  time  someone is 
  379. knocked  over  and  is  unconscious  of  what is 
  380. going  on  around  them,  it  is not of God.  In 
  381. short,  it is not of God any time someone passes 
  382. out  and  cannot remember what took place during 
  383. that  time  period.   Such  things are either of 
  384. Satan or man.  For God most clearly says,
  385.      "The spirits of the prophets are 
  386.      subject to the control of the 
  387.      prophets."  -1 Corinthians 14:32
  388. What  God  is  saying is that He will never pour 
  389. out  His  Spirit  in  such  a  way that a person 
  390. loses  control!   No manifestation from God will 
  391. so  over-power a person that they can't help but 
  392. speak in tongues or pass out.  For...
  393.  
  394.      "...God is not a a God of disorder but
  395.      of peace."  -1 Corinthians 14:33
  396.  
  397. There  is deep need of repentance in the Body of 
  398. Christ  over  this whole demonic realm of 'being 
  399. slain  in  the  Spirit'.  For surely they cannot 
  400. be  serious that John 18:6 is referring to being 
  401. slain  in  the Spirit?!  Those were men who were 
  402. coming  to  kill  Jesus  and  were  thrown down!  
  403. Maybe  they  are right.  They are coming to kill 
  404. the  Word of God by this belief and disorder and 
  405. so  God  was  knocking them down to tell them to 
  406. wake  up and repent!!  Next time someone gets up 
  407. from  being  slain in the Spirit say, "Good, now 
  408. go  and  repent of your slaughter of the Word of 
  409. God!"
  410.  
  411. Surely,  they don't mean that REVELATION 1:17 is 
  412. what  your  congregation  is experiencing.  John 
  413. was  totally  aware of what was going on.  He is 
  414. able  to  describe what he is seeing.  Now if by 
  415. "being  slain in the Spirit" they mean they just 
  416. saw  a  holy  Jesus,  then that, true Christians 
  417. can  accept.  But passing out is a far cry from, 
  418. "When  I  saw  HIM, I fell at his feet as though 
  419. dead."
  420.               PROPER USE OF TONGUES
  421. 1.   It is sinful to have everyone speaking in 
  422.      tongues  at once.  There is no such freedom 
  423.      allowed when the Body comes together.
  424. "If  anyone  speaks  in  a tongue, two-or at the 
  425. most  three-speak,  one  at  a time, and someone 
  426. must interpret."        -1 Corinthians 14:27
  427.  
  428. A.   At any worship service at the most "three"
  429.      people are allowed to speak in tongues.
  430.  
  431. B.   Someone must "interpret" that tongue.
  432.  
  433. C.   And it must be done "one at a time".
  434.  
  435. Indeed,  if  no one can interpret the tongue the 
  436. person   must  not  speak  in  the  church  with 
  437. tongues.
  438.  
  439. "If  there is no interpreter, the speaker should 
  440. keep  quiet  in  the church and speak to himself 
  441. and God."        -1 Corinthians 14:28
  442.  
  443. I mean, think about it. 
  444.  
  445. What  if  you  walked  into  a  church and heard 
  446. everyone singing a different hymn all at once? 
  447.  
  448. Or,   what  if  you  heard  everyone  reading  a 
  449. different scripture all at the same time? 
  450.  
  451. Would  you  not  say  they were crazy?!  Yet you 
  452. walk  into  church and you will hear many people 
  453. speaking  in tongues all at the same time.  What 
  454. sin and direct disobedience to God's Word.
  455.  
  456. "So  if  the  whole  church  comes  together and 
  457. everyone  speaks in tongues, and some who do not 
  458. understand  or  some  unbelievers  come in, will 
  459. they not say that you are out of your mind?"
  460.                       - 1 Corinthians 14:23
  461. No  wonder  others  look  and say you are crazy.  
  462. How  you  prove that God is not worth following.  
  463. God  is  not  glorified  with such "praise".  If 
  464. you  want to speak in tongues do it at home, see 
  465. all of 1 Corinthians 14. 
  466.  
  467. Of  course  they  will  say you are "out of your 
  468. mind"  with  total  justification.   For you are 
  469. "ignorant"  of  spiritual gifts and how they are 
  470. to  be  used.   So  the  next  time  someone  is 
  471. praying  don't  be mumbling under your breath in 
  472. tongues.   Listen  to what he is saying and then 
  473. say  'Amen'  when  he  is  done.  You are in sin 
  474. when  you  speak in tongues without order and an 
  475. interpreter.
  476.  
  477.          WE WILL NOT LISTEN TO YOU TEACH
  478. If  you  will  not  teach  and live this then we 
  479. will  not listen to anything you teach!  For God 
  480. tells us to do this. We will ignore you.
  481.  
  482. "If   anyone   thinks   he   is   a  prophet  or 
  483. spiritually  gifted,  let  him  acknowledge that 
  484. what   I   am  writing  to  you  is  the  Lord's 
  485. command.   If  he  ignores this, he himself will 
  486. be ignored."     -1 Corinthians 14:36-38
  487.  
  488. Therefore:
  489.      *Weep before God because you teach and 
  490.      practice being slain in the Spirit.
  491.      *Repent of the idolatry and worship of 
  492.      tongues and of saying that everyone should
  493.      have a prayer language.
  494.      *Do not speak in tongues unless you have 
  495.      been given permission and there is an 
  496.      interpreter.
  497.      *Find out what 1 Corinthians 11:10 means.
  498.
