  1. CUL:UPC believes in the Trinity?  by Ronals Enroth

  3.    The November 1987 issue of Moody Monthly contained several articles
  4. on the cults. These articles by noted discernment authors discussed the
  5. Mormons, the Unification Church, the New Age Movement, and the United
  6. Pentecostal Church. Noted charismatic author, Jamie Buckingham, in the
  7. January 1988 issue of Charisma & Christian Life called the authors of
  8. the Moody Monthly articles "heresy hunters" and likened them to
  9. "sharks" and defended the United Pentecostal Church. He stated: "My UPC
  10. friends, who disdain the term 'Jesus Only, ' tell me they really do
  11. believe in the Trinity."

  13.    Is Jamie Buckingham correct? Does the UPC believe in the Trinity?
  14. Thomas Weisser, a UPC minister, wrote in After the Way Called Heresy:
  15. "Damnable heresies started entering in. The greatest of these is the
  16. Trinitarian Doctrine. This doctrine is not found in Scripture!...Its
  17. wording was borrowed from paganism" (page 4). Dr. Enroth questioned
  18. Charisma: "Is he [Jamie Buckingham] familiar with that church's version
  19. of the Doxology: 'Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty, God is ONE
  20. person; there is no Trinity. Amen.'?"

  22.    If Jamie Buckingham does not do deeper studies into those he
  23. defends, he may next be endorsing the Jehovah's Witnesses, the Mormons,
  24. or New Age Channelers!
