  3.    No, we haven't changed our name, but this title is a very good
  4. definition for C.E.C. While our mission is to help local fundamental
  5. churches in Roman Catholic evangelism, we want to have, as our primary
  6. goal, exalting the Lord Jesus Christ.

  8.    It is unfortunate that Roman Catholic evangelism is often accused of
  9. being unloving and judgmental. I know there have been (and still are)
  10. individuals and organizations that pour out invective against Rome
  11. without showing any evangelistic love, but the Christians I fellowship
  12. with in the Association of Fundamentalists Evangelizing Catholics (Bart
  13. Brewer, Frank Eberhardt, Wilma Sullivan and Lyle Murphy) all exhibit a
  14. genuine love for Roman Catholic people.

  16.    We have real obstacles to be overcome. As I mentioned a couple of
  17. months ago, Christian men who are expert in certain fields often have
  18. no discernment concerning Roman Catholic need. Some Christians who live
  19. in precariously Roman-Catholic-dominated situations are timid about
  20. facing up to the real truths concerning Romanism. Others think that
  21. Christian love is best manifested by pretending that everyone is all
  22. right. For these we need your prayers.

  24.    We also need your prayers because we are all human. An illustration
  25. a pastor gave last week is very appropriate. We can go to battle under
  26. the banner, THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, but as we address the fray and get
  27. all involved in fighting, we can glance up at the banner and see our
  28. name instead of His. We must constantly assess, Under whose banner are
  29. we fighting?

  31.    Then, too, the very nature of the foe causes human problems. There
  32. is no cult in the world so obviously counterfeit as Romanism to those
  33. who truly understand principles of counterfeiting religion. Many and
  34. blatant are the errors surrounding the sacrifices and sacraments of
  35. Rome. It is easy to allow a fervor of expression to come into our
  36. messages that masks our real concern and love, and makes it look like
  37. we too are merchants of hate.

  39.    Then we can make mistakes, and we can be led astray by others whom
  40. we follow. For this reason, every statement we make must be at least
  41. documentable, and formal statements should be documented from Roman
  42. Catholic sources, not from some ex-priest or Protestant scholar.

  44.    All of these potential problems will be solved in the proportion to
  45. our exalting Christ. The Bible is full of ways that He can be exalted -
  46. in evangelism, in teaching, in gain or in loss, in poverty or
  47. abundance, every day and in every way our lives must be poured out as a
  48. living sacrifice to Him.
