  2. EVOLUTION - A HOUSE DI-VI-DED
  3.  
  4. "IF a house be divided against itself, that house cannot
  5. stand" (Mark 3:25.
  6.  
  7. Evolutionists ardently defend their house against outsiders,
  8. but squabble vigorously with each other inside the house. In
  9. this article we present a collage of recent quotes
  10. from evolutionists attacking different aspects of their own
  11. basic theory. 
  12.  
  13. Lest we be accused of our-of\context quoting,
  14. we emphasize that each person quoted is a committed
  15. evolutionist, even though his remarks remarks make him sound
  16. like a creationist.
  17.  
  18.                 COSMIC EVOLUTION
  19.  
  20. The standard evolutionary concept for the origin of the
  21. universe is the Big Bang theory, but many eminent
  22. astronomers flatly reject it.
  23.  
  24.         Both the 'Big Bang' model and theoretical side of
  25.         elementary particle physics rely on numerous highly
  26.         speculative assumptions (1).
  27.         But if there was no Big Bang, how and when did the
  28.         universe begin?.. (Hannes) Alfven replies: "It is
  29.         only a myth that attempts to say how the universe
  30.         came into being....."(2).
  31.  
  32. One argument for the Big Bang, is the "red shift," but
  33. Halton Arp and other leading astronomers say "n."
  34.  
  35.         (Arp) maintains that quasars, for example, whose
  36.         large red shifts suggest they are the most distant
  37.         objects in the universe, are actually no ore distant
  38.         than galaxies....(3)
  39.  
  40.         EVOLUTION OF-LIFE FROM NON-LIFE
  41.  
  42. It is commonly asserted that life evolved from non-living
  43. chemicals by purely naturalistic processes. However, a
  44. leading scientist in this field says:
  45.  
  46.         At present all discussions on principle theories and
  47.         experiments in the filed either end in stalemate or
  48.         in a confession of ignorance...The problem is that
  49.         the principal evolutionary processes from prebiotic
  50.         molecules to progenotes have NOT BEEN PROVEN by
  51.         experimentation and that the environmental
  52.         conditions under which these processes occurred are
  53.         not known (4).

  55.                 EVOLUTION OF SPECIES
  56.  
  57. The standard DArwinian and neo-Darwinian theories of
  58. evolution argues that new species are developed by a natural
  59. selection of random variations to fit changing environments.
  60. Many evolutionists today, however, are rejecting Darwinism,
  61. even though they still cling to evolution. One such
  62. scientist is Kenneth Hsu.
  63.  
  64.         The law of natural selection is not, I will
  65.         maintain, science. It is a ideology, and a wicked
  66.         one, and it has as much interfered with our ability
  67.         to perceive the history of life with clarity as it
  68.         has interfered with out ability to see one another
  69.         with tolerance...The law of the survival of the
  70.         fittest may be, therefore, a tautology in which
  71.         fitness is defined by the fact of survival, not by
  72.         independent criteria that would form the basis for
  73.         prediction (5).

  75.                 EVOLUTION OF HUMAN LIFE
  76.  
  77. Much ado has been made about the Laetoli fossil footprints
  78. in Tanzania, dated at 3.5 million years ago, supposedly
  79. proving that the australopithecine ancestors of man walked
  80. erect.
  81.  
  82.         But the first detailed study of the gaits and
  83.         footprints of modern people who walk barefooted
  84.         indicated the Laetoli prints are such like those of
  85.         Homo sapiens and were probably not produced by
  86.         Lucy's relatives, reports Russell H. Tuttle of the
  87.         University of Chicago (6).
  88.  
  89. It should be obvious that these footprints were made by true
  90. human beings; the only reason for rejecting this fact is the
  91. ASSUMED 3.5-million-year age, a time long before man is
  92. supposed to have evolved.
  93.  
  94.                 THE FOSSIL EVIDENCE
  95.  
  96. The fossil record has traditionally been considered the best
  97. evidence for evolution, but the utter absence of true
  98. transitional forms continues to be an embarrassment.
  99.  
  100.         If we were to expect to find ancestors to or
  101.         intermediates between higher taxa, it would be in
  102.         the rocks of late Precambrian to Ordovician times,
  103.         when the bulk of the world's higher animal and taxa
  104.         evolved. Yet transitional alliances are unknown or
  105.         unconfirmed for any of the phyla or classes
  106.         appearing then (7).
  107.  
  108. "We conclude that..neither of the contending theories of
  109. evolutionary change at the species level, phyletic
  110. gradualism or punctuated equilibrium, seem applicable to the
  111. origin of new body plans (8).
  112.  
  113.                 EXTINCTION VERSUS SPECIATION
  114.  
  115. Evolutionists seem unable to realize the anomaly in the slow
  116. rate of speciation versus the high rate of species
  117. extinction.
  118.  
  119.         Today's rate (of extinction) can be estimated
  120.         through various analytical techniques to be a
  121.         minimum of 1000, and possibly several thousand
  122.         species a year.....It normally takes tens of
  123.         thousands of years for a new terrestrial vertebrate
  124.         or a new plant species to emerge fully, and even
  125.         species with rapid turnover rates, notably insects,
  126.         usually require centuries, if not millennia, to
  127.         generate a new species (9).
  128.  
  129. So far as ever observed, NO NEW SPECIES are now being
  130. formed. It seems that evolution, if there is such a thing,
  131. is going in the WRONG DIRECTION!
  132.  
  133.                 UNFORMATARIANISM
  134.  
  135. Although the history of the earth and life have long been
  136. interpreted by the uniformatarian maxim, "the present is the
  137. key to the past," more and more geologists are returning to
  138. catastrophism.
  139.  
  140.         Our science is too encumbered with uniformitarian
  141.         concepts that project the modern Earth?Life systems
  142.         as the primary model for interpretation of evolution
  143.         and extinction patterns in ancient ecosystems.
  144.         Detailed paleoenvironmental data tell us that the
  145.         past is the key to the present, not vice versa (10).
  146.  
  147. One of the key evidences for great age is the uniformatarian
  148. interpretation of "evaporites," but this very term is
  149. misleading.
  150.  
  151.         In referring to "evaporite"...the term begs the
  152.         question as it implies desiccation. for clarity,
  153.         geology needs a new term; namely "precipitite," rock
  154.         created by precipitation. Hence rocks of the
  155.         evaporitic facies could be...precipitites, deposited
  156.         from a super-saturated solution (11).
  157.  
  158. Precipitation is, of course, a much more rapid process than
  159. evaporation.
  160.  
  161.                 SOCIAL HARMFULNESS OF EVOLUTION
  162.  
  163. Evolutionists strongly complain when creationists point out
  164. the historically evil influence of evolutionism. Many
  165. evolutionists, however, do recognize this fact.
  166.  
  167.         "...we were victims of a cruel social ideology that
  168.         assumes that competition among individuals, classes,
  169.         nations or races is the natural condition of life,
  170.         and that it is also natural for the superior to
  171.         dispossess the inferior. for the last century and
  172.         more this ideology has ben thought to be a natural
  173.         law of science, the mechanism of evolution which was
  174.         formulated most powerfully by Charles Darwin in
  175.         1859...(12).
  176.  
  177.         (Robert Proctor) shows how the major German
  178.         societies of physical anthropologists collaborated
  179.         with the SS program of race hygiene, helping to make
  180.         a racial policy....Eugene Fischer, the most
  181.         distinguished of German physical anthropologists,
  182.         regarded by many as the founder of human genetics,
  183.         was particularly helpful in these efforts...But
  184.         surely American physical anthropologists spoke out
  185.         clearly against the Nazi perversion of their science?
  186.         They did not (13).
  187.  
  188.                 SCIENTIFIC BIGOTRY
  189.  
  190. Creationists are not the only ones who find it difficult to
  191. get a hearing from the scientific establishment. Even
  192. evolutionists who do not conform to the majority viewpoint
  193. in evolutionary dogma at a given time encounter this same
  194. bigotry, through the so-called "peer review" process.
  195.  
  196. One of the most distinguished modern astronomers is Nobel
  197. prize-winner Hannes Alfven, who espouses an alternative
  198. cosmology to the Big Bang. Here is his testimony (even Nobel
  199. laureates must defer to the scientific establishment!).
  200.  
  201.         "..it has given me a serous disadvantage. when I
  202.         describe the phenomena according to this formalism,
  203.         most referees do not understand what I say and turn
  204.         down my papers (14). But the argument "all
  205.         knowledgeable people agree that..." (with the tacit
  206.         addition that by not agreeing you demonstrate that
  207.         you are a crank) is not a valid argument in science.
  208.         If scientific issues always were decided by Gallup
  209.         polls and not by scientific arguments, science will
  210.         very son be petrified forever (15).

  213. One day it will be said: "...the winds blew, and beat upon
  214. that house (evolution); and it fell: and great was the fall
  215. of it" (Matthew 7:27).
