  22. useful as handouts, particularly since each Impact is concise & to the
  23. point.    This issue: Dr. Morris' annual report & overview of a decade & a
  24. half of ICR activities.

  29. membership.  $15/4 issues for non-members & institutions.]  Without a
  30. doubt, CSSSH Quarterly is one of the best & most unique creationist
  31. journals.  The strong biblical creationist emphasis on the social sciences
  32. & humanities, i.e. literature, music, art, etc, is found nowhere else.

  62. informal, approachable style.  Articles this issue include: a critique of
  63. the gap theory by Ken Ham; an interview w/John Morris on searching for
  64. Noah's Ark; Dr. Gary Parker on new views about how evolution might occur;
  65. "The Religious Nature of Evolution Theory and Its Attack on Christianity"
  66. by John Leslie & Charles Pallaghy; and other short articles on education,
  67. history, and what I call "design" articles.  Also includes cartoons,
  68. photos, letters page, news, & other items.  Excellent publication for the
  69. lay person.  Produced in Australia.

  75. & a request for funds to support the heavily subsidized Creation Ex Nihilo.

  83. organs article); "Will the Real Creation Model Please Stand Up?" by
  84. atheistic evolutionist Frederick Edwords (editor of the anti-creationist
  85. Creation/Evolution Journal); "Response to Edwords" by Norman Geisler &
  86. Kerby Anderson (Probe Ministries); "Plant Vestiges: An Argument From
  87. Silence" by George Howe; Peter Gordon's regular report on articles about
  88. the controversy; and several very good book reviews.    This publication is

  107. Biblical Chronology?" by Stan Vaninger (can't help but mention Stan is a

  122. Pearcey: "Archaeopteryx and the Gang of Three" (which is really six);
  123. "What's In A Name?--Taxonomy and the Genesis 'Kinds'" by Nancy Pearcey (who
  124. ranks with Ellen Meyers as one of the best writers among creationists!);

  135. tolerance in the origins debate); editorial by J. Richard Pearcey: "Can

  141.  $6/10.]  An excellent newspaper for use in Jr-Hi & high schools.  This
  142. paper regularly features interviews with Christian athletes (this issue:
  143. baseball Cardinals Van Slyke & Horton), movie & book reviews, a regular
  144. science column (almost always on creation/evolution issues), education
  145. column, comic strip, & news, all from a totally Christian perspective. 
  146. Highly recommended for their strong stand on creation.

  148. SCP Newsletter, V11, #2, Summer '85.  [Spiritual Counterfeits Project, PO

  150. Available by request but best send a donation.]     The Spiritual Counterfeits
  151. Project is one of the finest Christian organizations exposing and analyzing
  152. what is termed "spiritual counterfeits" or more commonly known as cults. 
  153. Recent issues have focused on the New Age movement, Eastern mysticism, &
  154. the human potential movement while also revealing their humanistic
  155. foundation.  As these movements have begun to influence science &
  156. scientists, the SCP has issued critical reviews & analysis.  They stand
  157. opposed to evolution & humanism.

  194. Nelson (from Deluge Story in Stone); a design article, "The Orchid Bee--
  195. Bucket Orchid Relationship" by Dr. Grant Lambert; "Jonah" by Ken Binskin;

  202. headed by John W. Whitehead, and concentrates on defending Christians from
  203. religious persecution and their free speech rights in public places such as
  204. schools and universities.  In this issue: "Fulfilling the Cultural Mandate"
  205. by Dr. James Kennedy; "The Christian Duty of Political Involvement" by John
  206. Whitehead; & news of cases the Institute is currently involved in or has
  207. successful defended.  This is THE answer to the A.C.L.U.

  214. Gettysburg College by Probe staff.  Probe sponsors forums on U.S. campuses
  215. (and other countries?) that concentrate on presenting the Christian
  216. perspective to students.  They stand opposed to evolution.

  222. conferences, debates, & creationist book translations.    Particularly useful
  223. are the reviews of two widely circulated & respected British science
  224. journals, New Scientist & Nature by John V. Collyer.  He provides an
  225. excellent service by extracting & commenting on items of interest to
  226. creationists from these journals.  Also enclosed with this issue are two
  227. pamphlets: "Why I Believe In Creation" by Newman Watts (an abridged version
  228. published earlier as #11) & "The Biological Macroevolutionary Origins Model
  229. Is Not A 'Scientific Theory'" (#241) by Dr. George Howe.

  243. article publication intended as a handout.  (See quantity pricing.)  First
  244. issue: "Why All the Fuss About Evolution and Creation?" by Charles Thaxton
  245. & Jon Buell and the second issue: "If We Teach Creation, Why Not A Flat
  246. Earth Too?" also by Thaxton and Buell.  Both articles are strong defenses
  247. of creationism, although the authors are old-age creationists.    Thaxton is
  248. the co-author of "Mystery of Life's Origin," an excellent assault on
  249. evolutionary chemical origin of life theories.

  263. this museum before (first opened June '84), but from this newsletter I
  264. gather they are developing a good creationist museum.  A flier dated Aug
  265. 23, '85 indicated they are in the position of purchasing (provided funds
  266. can be raised) a 4200 square foot building next to a new 7-unit shopping
  267. complex in the heart of West Yellowstone.

  271. w/inserts.  More or less monthly.  Free or with contribution.]    The format
  272. is that of a letter to readers (a nice informal style), but doesn't allow
  273. for any substantial information about the C.S.L.D.F.'s work.  The efforts
  274. of the Legal Defense Fund would perhaps be better appreciated if they
  275. published a regular newsletter.     (Give us more indepth reports of the legal
  276. battles in the creation/evolution controversy!)

  279. Arm, MD     21057.     William Corliss, ed.  4 pp.  Also includes: Anomaly Book
  280. News, 4 pp; and listings of books they recommend & sell, in addition to
  281. those they publish.  Bi-monthly.  Available by request or with book
  282. purchase.]  Creationists would do well to avail themselves of this
  283. newsletter.  Bill covers and reports on the growing area of anomalies that
  284. science (and evolution) are currently unable to explain.  The result is a
  285. wealth of information creationists are unaware of, but would find useful. 
  286. He also recommends and sells creationist books and anti-evolution books by
  287. non-creationists.

  291. for #3--2 pp.  4 (?) times a year. Available with SOR membership--$15 a
  292. year]  Includes: news of SOR's computer creation/evolution database--
  293. CREVO/IMS; and Peter Gordon's excellent survey of the scientific literature
  294. concerning creation and evolution.  Let's hope SOR can keep this bulletin
  295. going (and increase the page count), I'd like to see more of Gordon.

  299. Monthly.  $3 per calendar year (i.e., subscribe in July, & you receive all
  300. issues for the year.)]    Each issue features one article on some subject of
  301. Christian apologetics.    This issue: "Logical Illiterates and Scientific
  302. Simpletons" by Bert Thompson--a report of a debate with Dr. Delos McKown. 
  303. (Dr. McKown suggested that creationists are making progress because our
  304. nation is filled with "logical illiterates and scientific simpletons.") 
  305. More than half the issues deal with creation/evolution topics from a
  306. thorough, young earth creationist position.
