BBB:Correcting the Greek with the English

   In our last two articles we noted that all Bible-rejecting
fundamentalists and all apostate fundamentalists correct "the Greek
text" with the Authorized Version. (The term "the Greek text" in this
case meaning any edition of the Textus Receptus or "Majority" Greek
text {Erasmus, Beza, Elzevir, Stephanus, Colineaus, et al}). While
calling such an operation "demonism" (Hymers, Combs, Hudson, Dell,
Sherman, et al) or "blasphemy" (Hutson, Hobbs, Hindson, Waite, et al),
all of the apostates do it constantly themselves if they do any
PREACHING at all. When they say, "Let us turn in the scriptures to...,"
or "Let us read a verse of scripture in...," or "The scriptures that
teach this are...," or "Let us see what the scriptures say...," they
are simply lying. They are not going to read any "scripture" for "ALL
SCRIPTURE IS GIVEN BY INSPIRATION OF GOD." What they are going to do is
pretend that the AV text they are reading is "scripture" and make you
think THEY believe it is, when they believe NOTHING OF THE KIND.

   This is what the word "apostasy" means; it means a "falling away
from a standing position." That is why we call them justly, rightly,
and honestly, "APOSTATE FUNDAMENTALISTS."

   We pointed out that any Bible believer with an IQ of 90 could have
easily corrected the "best critical Greek text" produced by "scientific
methods" in the nineteenth and twentieth century. Any simpleton with a
King James Bible should have corrected Hort's text in 1884 in Luke
2:33; John 3:13; Luke 24:51,52; Mark 9:46,48; Matthew 6:13; Matthew
5:22; and 1 Timothy 3:16. "THE ORIGINAL GREEK" then was nothing but
rubbish. "THE GREEK TEXT" at that time was a joke and "the original
Greek text" (a nonexistent figment of Adam's imagination) was about as
accurate as an astrological forecast by Mike Tyson. If the believers
failed to correct Hort's Greek text with the English, they did God and
themselves (and Hort) an injustice. By the same token, any Middle
School graduate in 1910, 1920, 1930, or 1940, who did not correct
Nestle's Novum Testamentum Graece with the King James Bible, definitely
failed God and the Body of Christ. That Greek text was absolutely WRONG
in Matthew 13:43,44;19:9;19:17; 20:8; 25:41; Mark 3:22; 1:1-3; 1:40;
2:3; 3:14, 16; 6:11, 22; 7:6,18; 8:26; 13:14, and two hundred other
places. Anyone correcting Nestle's Critical Greek Text (called the
"inerrant," infallible, "inspired" word by the head of the Bible
Department at BJU) did the right thing if they corrected it with a King
James Bible.

   Now the fashion (the Dean Burgon Society) is to substitute one
sacred cow for another and correct the AV with the TR and call anyone a
"heretic" or "blasphemer" who did what he SHOULD HAVE DONE from 1880 to
1980 with "the original Greek" used for the ASV, NASV, NIV, RSV, and
NRSV.

   But is the case that tough? Ich denke nicht.

   Here are some preachers who get into the pulpit and read the AV and
preach from the AV. It is the only Bible that shows up in their pulpit.
Every one of them PURPOSELY creates the impression that he is reading
"the scripture" and every one of them purposely creates the impression
that he believes what he is reading and preaching is from God's Book
and this Book contains WHAT GOD SAYS that He wants the congregation to
hear. In this respect there is not a straw to choose between ANY man on
the following list:

   Oliver Greene, Carl Lackey, Hugh Pyle, Charles Fuller, Harry
Ironside, Maze Jackson, Dr. M.R. DeHaan, Hot Dog Hymers, James Combs,
Walter Handford, Beauchamp Vick, John R. Rice, John Rawlings, Harley
Keck, George Grace, Victor Sears, Jack Hyles, Tim Lee, Tim Green, R.A.
Torrey, Bobbie Scumner, Lee Scarborough, Adrian Rodgers, R.G. Lee,
Charles Haddon Spurgeon, Gary Hudson, Fred Afman, Al Jennings, Donald
Grey Barnhouse, B.B. Crimm, Jessie Hendley, Hyman Appleman, Oswald
Smith, J. Harold Smith, Joe Henry Hankins, Glen Schunk, and Lester
Roloff.

   Which one is a liar?

   There you have it! Which one didn't REALLY believe what he was
reading and preaching was God's truth--infallible, final, and without
error? Which one had a mental reservation from start to finish which he
was COVERING UP and disguising so that the audience would think he was
with them when he was NOT?

   That is the question. Is there more than one man? How many? Do you
think that I would be one of that number? Only one guess, dearly
beloved, just ONE!

   Here is what these men are doing, whether they believe it or not,
know it or not, profess it or not, or admit it or not. They are
correcting every Greek text extant every time they read Mark 14:41;
Ephesians 1:17, 3:9; Acts 20:24; and Titus 1:2. And what preacher in
the lot hasn't read THOSE verses in his teaching or preaching at some
time? Did he stop and correct the English with the Greek? If he did he
revealed to his audience that he did not really believe what he was
reading was SCRIPTURE, for "all scripture is given by inspiration of
God." If he did NOT--but thought it was heresy to correct Greek with
English--he was nothing but a cheap hypocritical opportunist, because
he withheld absolute truth from the congregation when he knew what it
was.

   Think about that about a year. Take your time and don't hurry. The
reason Baptists make stupid statements like, "I don't believe in
correcting the GREEK with the ENGLISH," is because, being under
pressure by professional liars who make their living correcting the AV,
they get in a post-tearing haste to say something and they say
something ridiculous without even having thought the thing out.

   There is NO GREEK text that says, "Sleep on now, and take your rest:
it is enough, the hour is come" (Mark 14:41). Every Greek text extant
on this earth says "katheudete to loipon kai anapauesthe" (A, C, D, L,
W, and some others omit the "loipon"): "fall ye asleep, the
remaining...," or "sleep ye, henceforth," (or "moreover," "besides,"
"furthermore", or "finally," etc.), but "SLEEP ON NOW, AND...." No way,
Jose. That is the Authorized Version. Every man jack listed above when
he preached on Gethsamene from Matthew corrected "THE Greek text."

   Who didn't do it in the list above? Who did do it? Those who did,
practiced what they now call "HERESY" and a "CULT." Shut your mouth,
you two faced reprobate!

   Those who didn't do it "went to the Greek." Do you wanna bet that
even FIVE men in the list did that? I will lay you odds ten to one that
you couldn't find TWO men in the list who did it on Matthew 26:45. They
all corrected the Greek with the English.

   They did it again in Ephesians 1:18. There is no "sech a thang" as
"the eyes of your understanding" (AV) to be found in ANY Greek text. It
is missing from the Majority Text, the Textus Receptus, the Alexandrian
texts, the Caeserian texts and ALL of the Western texts. Every uncial
and cursive on earth said "tous ophthalmous tes kardias." The word
"understanding" doesn't occur on this earth in ANY Greek manuscript.
The word was "kardias" (hearts).

   Name the men above who made that alteration when they quoted the
verse.

   We will settle for one man. And when you find him, mark it down; he
was a professional ACTOR all of his life whenever he got up with an AV
in his hand and called it "scripture."

   Blew it on Ephesians 3:9 too, didn't you? Blew it again on Acts
20:24 again, didn't you? Want thirty-five more cases? Comin' up!

   You believe the Book or you do not

   If you believe it, you don't correct it with anything.

   If you don't believe it, don't act like you do.

   Don't kid any of us who really believe it that you are a "Bible
believer" any more than you are a Greek scholar. We know a baboon when
we see one.
