  1. BIO:Walter Lewis Wilson

  3. 1881-1969
  4. Walter L. Wilson was born May 27, 1881, in Aurora, Indiana, 
  5. son of a Methodist minister. He was "the preacher" whenever 
  6. neighborhood children played church, and later held evangel-
  7. istic street meetings at the age of 16. After medical train-
  8. ing, he began practice as a physician in Webb City, Missouri, 
  9. in 1904. Everywhere he went, he told people how Jesus Christ 
  10. could transform their lives. Soul-winning characterized his 
  11. life, and he used every possible tool to accomplish it.
  12.         A pioneer in radio, he initiated his own program in 
  13. 1924. He founded and for 40 years pastored Calvary Bible 
  14. Church in Kansas City; founded and served as president of 
  15. present-day Calvary Bible College; wrote 22 books; and trav-
  16. eled widely as a conference speaker.
  17.         He died May 24, 1969, but his heart pulse lives on. 
  18. "The blessed privilege of winning souls for Christ is most 
  19. interesting, profitable, and eternally blessed."
